Hearing the nearing footsteps, Mary straightened up and pulled her shoulders back.
"Mary, you in there?" Came a cautious male voice.
"In here, John."
A bunch of long metal rods poked through the doorway at an odd angle and soon became a compacted easel, followed by John's back as he attempted to navigate the confines of the hallway. John shuffled in, hands and arms full with art supplies. Getting himself fully into the room, John went to his usual spot and started setting things down, easel, art bin with paints and brushes, a canvas or two. Relieved of his burden John let out a sigh and wiped his brow.
The room was dim, but that was normal. John reached over and turned on the hanging spotlights the two used for lighting the model. John turned to the large couch the lights now illuminated and sucked in a breath. Mary's rabbit fur caught the light and shimmered dully. "Hello, John." Mary purred and looked up at John through the top of her pink eyes. A satisfied smile crept up over her lips.
John stood speechless, shocked. "Ma...Mary?" John managed to choke out. Was she now into costumes? They'd done plenty of nudes for painting sessions, maybe she was bored and wanted to try something different. But, this wasn't what he'd have thought of. "Where'd you get the costume?" John slowly recovered from his shock.
"Oh, John," Mary said as she rose off the couch, her more ample hips swaying, "This isn't a costume. You'll never believe it, but it's all me." Mary wrapped her arms around John's neck and touched her upturned pink bunny nose to his human one. She gave him a hug and giggled before stepping back to show John a good view. "What do you think?" Mary turned around, showing off her new body. To say the least, she appeared very much to be enjoying herself.
John, totally bemused now, could only stare at Mary the rabbit, and wonder if he was dreaming.
