Instead of crashing into the side of a mountain, they went through the side of the mountain as if it was a hologram. Jet landed in front of a tall gate with 2 guards in front.
"What was that?" Jen asked.
"A very complicated illusion spell my ancestor performed over 1000 years ago. If you're not wanted in the city, you can't enter and the ilusion becomes like a real mountain, with soil, rocks, snow at the peak, the whole nine yards!" Jet explained.
"Cool! Wait a sec, did you say 1000 years?! Kyle said he made this server a few years ago!" Jen yelled.
"Time is very complicated." Jet said. "The world you just came from and this world are on 2 different timelines that progress at different speeds. It may have only been a few years there, but over 5000 years have past here."
"Okay, but why hide the city?" Jen asked.
"The Humans. They think that the Untamed are unnatural and as a result, enslave them. My species, the Winged Elves, disagreed and intervened. My ancestor, Xiang Fe, created this barrier and erased any memory of this city's location in the Humans and most of the Winged Elves, hence the name City of the Lost. Only the brave or stupid live in the Untamed Villages. They are unprotected and subject to raids by the Humans." Jet explained.
"So this world is at war?" Jen asked.
"Not quite. The territories around the 3 major cities are controlled by factions of each species. There is much tension, especially when it comes to neutral territory. But no, no wars right now." Jet explained. "Oh, before I forget, you need to be careful about fighting. When the Untamed get defeated in battle, they transform. And if you need to use magic, I'll give you my old magic sword. Well, what you do from here is your move. I needed back in Plume. Goodbye for now!" Jet flew off heading south, leaving behind a sword glowing with a blue aura. Jen picked it up and wondered what she should do next.
