Text scrolled down the laptop's screen as it successfully connected to the satellites and began to display data.
Luke let out a whistle, long and low. "It works!" he whispered. "That's probably the most powerful laptop in the world now..."
Ignoring him, Blakers began to bark orders. "The satellites still need to be in orbit before they'll be any good. And then the failsafe switch has to be thrown before the nukes can be fired. Suit up, Luke. You're going for a walk."
"Uh... yes, sir!" Clearly excited (and perhaps somewhat eager to get away from the "doomsday laptop"), Luke left the bridge.
At that moment, the comm. system began to beep, signaling an incoming message from Ground Control.
"Well, I'll be damned!" Blakers exclaimed. From Luke's station, he opened the message and began to read.
