Just then the store bell rings as someone comes into the shop. “Hey how about a bit of service here!” a voice calls out but to your ears it does not seem too upset.
“I thought you wanted to close the store my love?” Edna asks looking to her husband who is currently staring at the dog who even now is looking towards the front of the store with ears perked.
“What if she talks in front of one of our customers? Those park people will not be too happy that we tried to keep one of their dogs.”
“Oh hush she is all ready little more then a true bitch in thought so will be no more trouble then any other dog. Look at her does she look like a human even a bit?” Edna asks reaching down to stroke the canine softly as the bitch sniffs the air while listening to the customer moving about in the front of the shop. “See look at under her tail its a hundred percent canine all ready.” She states lifting the bitches tail and spreading the canine’s hind legs for her husband to see. “If I remember right she soon should be prime breeding stock. Remember how that male had gotten out of his pen and we feared he ran to seek help? Then we found him tied with the neighbor's bitch getting her with puppies?”
“But look at her paws Edna they are still almost hand like?”
“Hush you that will change in a few hours or perhaps even before this hour is up. You worry too much. Besides you need to go see to that person up front not get to it and not another word about our new dog.” Edna makes shoeing motions as she all but herds her husband on his way to tend to the waiting customer.
Not able to understand a word these two dogs are saying you decide to follow the male to the storefront to see this other dog that you can smell and hear moving about.
“Maybe its Robin back from his kennel job on the Island?” The old man asks aloud while making his way threw the curtains that divide the public part of the shop from the back room.
