Spelstorm Manor

The unicorn squad

added 14 years ago O

His plan to stick with Sarah for as long as possible back-fired when he found that the stairs that began on the first floor continued on up to the third floor without stopping.

Grumbling, he called out as he stood on the third floor landing, "Johnny? Erick? Ryan? You guys up here? So help me, you had better not be hiding or there's going to be trouble," and started down the corridor.

Wandering down the hall, upset that he was missing some crucial practice time by being here and looking for Sarah's brother and his friends, Tommy began his search by checking doors, carefully opening different doors and peering in at the rooms that was presented before him.

The first room was a bathroom and closing the door, he didn't try any more until about five doors after it. The next door opened up on a flight of stairs going up, which Tommy figured went up to the attic and closed the door. The next try found him looking at a sitting room with wall to ceiling bookshelves and large ornate fireplace that he could easily stand inside with Sarah one his shoulders and still have room to walk about.

Closing the door, he continued on, every once and awhile he would call out, waiting for an answer, thinking more and more that he should turn around and head for home.

On the next room he opened, the last eight doors proved to be either stuck or locker, Tommy found himself looking into a changing room of some sort. Stepping in, he called out, "Anybody hiding in here? Sei, you in here?" But received no answer to his queries, something that bothered him because he was sure that someone was in the room.

After a moment’s hesitation, he closed the door and continued on. Three doors later, Tommy opened yet another door and this time found himself looking in a large, walk-in closet.

He was just about to close the door when something caught his eye. Picking it up, he blew the dust off of it, inhaling it and overcoming with a fit of sneezes and coughs in the process. Examining it, he thought it looked like a music box and wondered if anyone would miss it.

"I think Sarah would like this," Tommy thought as he began to fiddle with the latch keeping it closed.

A soft click and the box sprang open. Pushing on the lid, hearing the hinges creak silently, Tommy lifted the lid and listened as a tinny-sounding tune began to play.

Looking at the lid, Tommy saw a small mirror affixed to the back. Another, smaller, lid opened to reveal a tiny compartment for storing odds and ends, "Probably some jewelry," Tommy told himself. In the center of the box was a figure that was slowly spinning around to the music. It was this that Tommy felt drawn to and gazing at it with an enraptured look upon his face, he took in the details of the tiny dancer; a dancing figure that didn't appear to be human, but something that looked, to Tommy, like a white horse with a horn stuck in the middle of its head, fingers instead of hooves, hooves instead of toes and a uniform that made Tommy think of the Cheerleading uniforms used by his school.

Suddenly remembering the room that looked like a changing room, Tommy suddenly wanted to go back and still holding the music box, staring intently at the unicorn dancer, he closed the closet door and began making his way back to the changing room he had seen earlier.
