Spelstorm Manor

The magick starts to unravel

added 14 years ago O

Jenny and Erica stared at the blue crystal, watching as it slowly grew brighter and brighter. Erica giggled for some reason and then squealed, "Pretty! I wanna touch," and then began to climb the pole with some difficulty.

Jenny leapt forward, as the light grew brighter, and tried to grab her sister, all the while admonishing her with the words, "No Erica. Leave it be. It might be dangerous. We should find mum and da." But to no avail as he sister continued to try and climb the pole, making a couple of feet and then sliding back down.

Rushing around and around the pole, chattering at her sister to stop and then they should either go play or look for their parents, Jenny failed to notice as the light suddenly lit up the clearing, making it appear as if it was suddenly day and then just as suddenly it dimmed by a fraction and a man appeared across the way. A man with a puzzled look upon his face that was reflected by what he was whispering.

As the man stood on the edge of the clearing, whispering, "Where am I and how did I get here," Jenny had decided that her sister needed persuasion in order to get her to listen and running up to the pole, she began to jump up and try to grab at Erica, who was now about five feet up the pole.

Unable to reach her sister, failing to see as the human male had entered the clearing and the light from the crystal was getting brighter, Jenny sighed heavily, screamed out, "I'm going to go play and if I see mum, I'm telling her you didn't listen," turned about, decided she couldn't abandon her sister, turned around and hollered in a playful tone, "Don't make me come up there," and then started to climb up.

Erica, who heard all this, just barely saw the human male out of the corner of her eye, was completely focused on the crystal. For some reason she could not understand, it called to her and the closer she got, the stronger the cry resonated.

Feeling the pole shift, she looked down, she was now about six feet up, slid a couple of inches, saw her sister climbing, heard what the other vixen kit said and then Erica stuck her tongue out and cried, "There's only room for one of us. Besides, you can catch me," and then began to shimmy up the pole once again.

Behind her, Jenny was making faster progress then her sister and the next outcome was confusing for all three that were in the clearing.

As Erica reached the top, her sister just behind her, the human male suddenly announced his presence by calling out, "NO! DON"T TOUCH THAT," as a worried look spread across his face.

As he called out, Erica touched the crystal. As she did this, Jenny looked at the man, felt her balance shift, grabbed for the first thing she could grab, felt her sister's tail and latched on to that. As she did this, Erica overbalanced and beneath her the pole began to sway.

The human male watched all this, began to rush forward and then stopped as the pole, with an audible snap, broke just beneath the lowest of the two anthropomorphic foxes.

The crystal tumbled off and as they fell to the ground, Jenny tightened her grip on Erica while her sister snatched at the crystal. With a loud crashing noise, the crystal hit the ground and then shattered. As it did so, an electric blue light erupted out and swallowed the two foxes and the human male.

As the three disappeared, the man cried out, "Look what you've down. I can't believe...."

Elsewhere, the various people in Spelstorm Manor, unaware of each other's location, attempted to either sort out their predicament or try and find the people that were searching for. Suddenly, a rumbling noise began somewhere out in from.

Brutus and Angela looked up from their tea party, listened as the rumbling grew louder, felt the floor start to shake and then Brutus calmly said, "The master is not going to be happy," while across from his Angela giggled and said, "One of daddy's spell crystals have been disrupted."

On a different floor, Sei threw herself to the floor and placed her hands above her heads as it began to move violently beneath her. As it did so, she started to wonder what was going on and then thought, "There can't be an earthquake here. Geography taught us we're sitting on solid bedrock."

As Sei thought this, unsure where this notion came from, large cracks began to form throughout and on the outside of the manor. As this happened, Sarah ducked into a doorway, thinking, "Earthquake! Door mantles are the strongest point of the house," while upstairs Tommy dove beneath a bench and curled up into a ball.

Downstairs on the first floor, Chad stood in a hallway, unsure of what to do. Suddenly the floor buckled and then opened and he found himself falling. As he landed hard on the basement floor, he thought for just a minute he saw someone running down the hall.

As the earthquake picked up, effecting only the manor and grounds around it, Jenny, Erica and human male appeared out front. Around them the ground buckled and shifted, while the cracks in the front deepened and somewhere a large amount of water suddenly emptied itself, while the busted fountain to their left simply crumbled. Looking at the two girls, the man belted out, "Look what you've done to my house. Why couldn't you leave well enough alone!"

As he screamed out this, somewhere deep in the earth, the magick of Spelstorm Manor began to shift and alter itself. As it did, the manor began to bend, twist and then increase in size.
