Jen got back to the family lounge. She smiled as she saw couples dancing to the slow calliope music-including her brother and Pinky.
She saw Jac-Jack had followed her, along with a whiteface clown she didn't know. She'd figured he must be a college friend of his; the main reason they broke up after Jac-Jack graduated was because he was going to a college far away, and she didn't think she could handle a long distance relationship. "Jac-Jack, who's your friend?"
"Oh. Jen, meet my roommate E-Ell. E-Ell, meet Jen."
"I heard a lot about you," E-Ell said. He was a head taller than Jac-Jack and skinny where Jac-Jack was fat. His color scheme made him seem even skinnier-he had long blue triangles underneath his eyes that nearly stretched down to his upper lip and his red nose was more oval than round, and upturned. E-Ell wore his hair, bright green with orange highlights, in an enormous curly afro, and he had on a tie-dyed shirt with vertical striped coveralls. His feet, while nearly half a yard long, were narrow and pointed at the toes instead of wide and round.
Seeing E-Ell next to Jac-Jack made the latter seem even fatter. "You've really put on some weight, haven't you?" Jen asked.
"Yeah I have." Jac-Jack's beer-belly shook as he laughed. He was getting jowls too, Jen noticed. "Couldn't help it. Runs in the family."
"Dude, nobody runs in YOUR family," put in E-Ell.
"That's true," said Jac-Jack., "They all waddle."
Jen was finding herself entranced by the way Jac-Jack's body jiggled. She giggled softly; Jac-Jack had always been heavyset but now he was almost like a walking blob of jelly.
And she LIKED it.
