Whether the force of the contact or whether there was some other factor, Adam's new ability to make body parts grow is more selective in the case of Paul and Dominic. Contact only really occurs between the two men's hands, and Adam. Oh, true their arms brush against his body as they lift him, but no torso or crotch or legs are in direct contact as they get Adam to his feet.
Both Paul and Dominic's arms balloon in size cascading toward the ground. The gorilla-like arms pull both Paul and Dominic forward so that they hunch their backs. Their forearms are now thicker than their thighs, and their upper arms are like tree trunks. Paul's knuckles rest on the ground. Jake sits there dumbfounded, he is half-certain he is dreaming. Adam bolts down the hallway, he is not quite sure if he is responsible for the strange growth spurts, but he doesn't want to be blamed for them.
Dominic looks at Paul and laughs. He raises his suddenly very heavy arm, it strains his shoulder. He mutters, "Guess I pulled a muscle. That guy was heavier than he looks."
Paul mutters, "Talk about muscles?"
Both look down at their own arms and then Jake. They glare at the empty hallway. Which way did Adam go? Paul and Dominic try to walk normally, but their heavy arms act like anchors. Paul tries using his arms like a gorilla to walk. He looks at Dominic.
"Guess we're a couple of knuckle draggers until we catch that guy."
The two knuckle walk to the split in the hallway, and then they decide to split up.
