When I went into this strange Ointment Store, I found the old Chinese shop-
keeper behind the counter. He was kind of cute, twinkling at me like my old
grand father.
I wanted to ask him about the snake oil, my friend had bought the day before,
but the old Chinese man just chuckled to himself and smiled at me knowingly.
"Greetings Vipriss, you powerful Queen!"
I gazed at him in disbelief.
How did this old guy know the name, I had given myself?
"I feel so honored, you highness, that you visit my little place. I know about
your wish and I am happy that I can help you..."
"Is that so?" I asked him unbelievingly.
"Yes, my Queen. I know about the events which have happend. And I know
about your true identity..."
"But how can I transform into my true identity again?" I asked him.
"Nothing could be simpler. Just search for your true power inside yourself.
And you will see, how easy you can control it..."
"My ass!" I broke out angrily. "Are you messing with me? Why did I transform
back to my human self in the first place, if my true identity is inside of me?"
"That's because you are so accustomed to your human body. So you changed
back to it, while you were at sleep. But you can transform into your other form
at any time... just at will."
"Hm... " I thought about it. "If this is true, I will try this at home. But there are still
a lot of questions!"
"I know" The old man said with a smile. "And again, I am happy that I have the
answers. Firstly, you still wonder, whether your new powers are permanent,
and I can assure you: They are. Then you ask yourself, why there are no other
powerful beings in our town, scince my magical Ointment Shop is opened for
some time now. Well, to be honest: Actually there are other persons with
special abilities. And there always have been these persons. Of course, you
know the films about superheros or the old storys about angles and demons.
These creatures really exist. And there are multiple ways to evolve into one
of them. In your case, the snake oil started the transformation, but your true
powers always already were there and waited inside of you..."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This old guy must have broken out of the
madhouse. But then, this whole snake-story was unbelievable, too.
"Now", he continued, "you want to know about your place in this new world
and again I am happy, that I can answer: Yes, you are very powerful. There
are other powerful creatures, of course, but you already have the power,
which only was available to some others after a long training or at an old age
of their transformation. But you are still young... and if you are lucky, you can
really make it to the Top 100."
Again I doubted my ears. A moment before, I would never have imagined, that
there were supernatural beings in our world... and now this crazy old Chinese
man was telling me, that I could become one of the 100 strongest of them.
Just how many of these freaks could possibly be out there?
"Of course, you have to be very careful, my queen Vipriss, since you are not
unvulnerable or immortal... And as soon as knowledge of your great powers
will spread among the others, you certainly will be attacked. So, try not to
attract attention. Try to stay inconspicuous. Try to be invisible... like snakes do.
And get familiar with your powers. Test them and train them! Then you will
conquer the world!"
I looked at the old man stunned. That really sounded adventurous. Still with a
lot of questions in my head, I thanked the old man and left the Ointment Shop.
I had to think about all these things carefully... and try to find my true powers.
So I got into my car again and drove back home.
