Charles took Snowy and cuddled up next to the fire, taking in the scents of recently cooked food. Glancing over at the still frozen Elf, he surmised that one of the Blizzard Events must have gone off before she could log out in safety. The player had probably decided to just log out and come back when it was over, though Charles wondered absently if Snowy would have felt anything while she was gone.
Of course not, he thought, shaking her head. He checked her stats, and sure-enough, Snowy had just been fed before the Elf (whose name was still garbled characters until he renamed the 'pet') Player signed off. Additionally, Snowy had mad Cold Resistance. Almost all her points were put into the Survival Tree.
A pinging sound went off to Charles' left and made him turn Snowy's head. It took a second to realize that he'd heard the sound of a Friend signing onto his in-game Buddy List. He made the prerequisite hand motion (paw motion) in the snow, and saw list appear in his view of a single name.
He wondered momentarily if he shouldn't go into Hidden Mode, but what did he care? He would simply tell whoever asked that he was bored and just wanted to play the Game. I'll just tell Darrell, if he asks, that all my other choices were worse than this one, he smirked, deciding on that course of action. If nothing else, unless Darrell was in the same Zone, he wouldn't be able to pull up detailed information on the character "Snowy" from where he was.
"[Maxus Anoob]: ((snowy. That a girl's name, bro?))" came Darrell's message softly as text across Charles' right-eye display. He thought about it for a moment, but dodged the question, seeing that Anoob was across the globe in the rainforest of Perezvale.
"((Is Maxus a n00b?))" he responded and the speech-to-text responded by putting his line just passed Snowy's name. She sat up and listened to the wolf howl again in the distance.
"[Maxus Anoob]: awe hale no." Darrell replied. "Male Hunter. Wood Elf. darker than me even. Decked out in some green abd blue named shit. Big Raptor." he added, and it told a lot.
Darrell's playing a black, male wood elf with a pet as a large raptor. Those were hard to come by and not early on, which mean he was in his mid-20's and could potentially power-level Charles and his pet. Still, he wasn't fond of the idea of being seen as a female wolf carrying around a dead weight of a formerly Player controlled character.
Charles turned Snowy's head to look at the Elf. If I Resurrect her, turn of her 'Show Ownership' so she doesn't say 'Snowy's Pet' under her name... then name her Snowy... Darrell would be none the wiser, and we could go off power-level me, Snowy smirked.
"((Hey Darrell, wanna run together? I'm behind you at least a few levels, but I should be able to catch up to you quick you help. If so, where do you want to meet up?))" he asked, and waited for a reply.
