Nicky looked out the window. "Here, come and take a look at this," she said to her sisters.
Olivia and Tiffany looked out with her. Olivia's eyes went wide. All the houses up and down the street looked like circus tents! Well, not exactly; she could tell they were made of board, brick, cardboard, and morter. But they did look like they had been designed to resemble circus tents.
A young clown was riding down the street on a unicycle with a huge sack over his shoulders. Again and again he would reach into the sack pull out a newspaper, and throw it at the doors to the houses. Olivia wasn't sure how but she recognized him as Eugene, one of the paperboys for thier block.
Five clowns exited the house and somhow manged to all fit themselves in this one little car that looked like it wouldn't hold anything larger than a fifth grader. Olivia couldn't be sure but thought they looked like their neighbors the Robinsons.
Stepping away from the window, Olivia went to her CD collection. Pink. KISS. Madonna. Hilary Duff. They were all clowns.
Olivia looked at Tiffany, who was looking over her shoulders. "What's happened?" she asked her sister.
"Isn't it obvious?" said Tiffany. "Everyone in the whole world has turned into a clown!" She giggled gleefully and honked her nose.
"What's so great about it?" asked Olivia. She couldn't believe her sister was actually enjoying this! "Something totally weird had just happened! Don't you want to know why?"
"Who cares?" Tiffany poked Olivia in the nose. HONK! "I feel so happy and free!"
Nicky simply shrugged. "It's not like there's anything we can do about it," she said casually-Olivia just now noticed she was speaking with a squeaky lilt, while Tiffany's voice was a lot deeper and goofier. Now Nicky poked Tiffany and Olivia in the nose simultaneously. "So we might as well enjoy it," she chuckled.
Olivia couldn't believe what she was seeing. She and her sisters, along with the rest of the whole world, had just been turned into clowns and not only did they not care, they enjoyed it completely.
