As you stroll along the deserted path, you hear a shriek. You dash through the bushes along a worn leaf covered bunny trail toward the woman's voice. Well, you think it's a woman, the shriek was high pitched enough, but then you recall your college room mate's shriek when he saw a mouse.
You burst out of the bushes and into a glade. You bump into a guy. No it's some mannequin, it can't have screamed. You're standing in the center of a chalk circle. There are candles surrounding the circle, each is resting on a different colored crystal. The mannequin is slumped over the opposite bushes outside the circle. There's a person in a hooded robe with their back to you, and their hands raised. Lightning crackles across their raised finger tips. The person spins around, lightning leaps from the person's fingers, hits you straight in the chest and knocks you out of the circle.
You struggle to your feet. Smoke is rising from your chest. The person throws back the hood to reveal an eager face. The cowl conceals the person's neck, and you're not sure if this is a young guy with longish hair or a woman with short hair. The eager face turns into a scowl.
"What have you done?" the person shrieks. You're still not sure of gender, but you don't want to be struck by lightning again, so you turn and run. The robed figure rushes over to the fallen mannequin.
