As Lynn was walking to breakfast she saw Ken standing at the door to Sir DeVile's office. "He must be going for his appointment with the farm manager," she thought. He looked rather timid as he knocked at the door and the stepping inside he the door closed behind him.
Just as Lynn turned to continue her walk to the dinning room a hand touched her shoulder. "Best get to breakfast early or the choice eats will be gone!" said Joyce Carpenter as she stood behind Lynn.
As Lynn pile her plate high with buckwheat pancakes she asked Joyce about some questions. "I was wondering about last nights meeting, the letter you mentioned, the Delaware Missing Persons Bureau? I would wonder why a bureau from so far away would seen a contact to a Wisconsin farm, seems a little odd! What use would this farm have for such people or say homeless people?" asked Lynn.
Joyce glarred at Lynn as though she had just insulted her work. Then as she was about to answer in walked a smiling Sarah. "Good Morning all, and a fine new day to my newest employee Lynn. Ahh, after breakfast I would like you to go with the Doctor their and get some injections to keep your health to our standards. I don't want any illness getting in the way of your future here at SunRise Farm!"
As Lynn finished her last bite the Doctor stood up and motioned for her to follow him. Out the dinning room door and down the long echoing hall toward the several offices they walked. As the Doctor paid attention to unlocking his office Lynn's attention was drawn to the sight of two security guards coming up the hallway.
The two men looked like exfootball linemen their shoulders were so broad and their dark shapes filled the hall as they walked closer. The Doctor stepped into the office and began turning on lights and his computer while Lynn stood in the doorway.
Lynn turned as the two security guards passed her as if she was an umbrella stand. Their face is what made Lynn give a soft gasp as she got a close view. One of the men's face was covered in short red hair, not just his cheeks and neck but all around his eyes and over the forehead. If this was not odd he also had fuzzy ears that stuck out from the sides of his head and looked very bovine in nature. In his right hairy hand was a pair of handcuffs which seemed ready for him to apply at any moment. As they stopped outside the door to Sir DeVile's office the other man removed his guard hat. This was worthy of another gasp as he had two three or four inch long horns protruding from his temples. "How strange these men are like something out of a science fiction video, some experiment, yuck!" she thought.
"You can come in now Lynn I'm all set up for your injections." said the Doctor as if nothing strange had passed his door.
In walked Lynn and closed the door to the hall she sat down next to the Doctor's desk. "Why do I need these injections?" asked Lynn.
"Oh my dear the farm in a place where many different illness' might be caught. Also Sarah wanted you prepared for your employment here with a special hormone injection to make your learning and adjustment to the position go more smoothly." said the Doctor with a funny grin.
After nine injections Lynn rubbed her arms feeling like a used pincushion. As the Doctor excused her she stepped out into the hall just as Ken was being lead away down the rear stairs handcuffed and between the two monster guards.
The day was still young and Lynn had seen many strange goings on about the farm office. As she stepped into the doorway of Joyce Carpenter's office she saw Joyce in an arguement with Sarah.
"I don't give a care what those fool bureau's want, I expect you to handle them and keep us out of their limelight. Look if you can't continue to hold this position down I'm sure we could find a new position you could handle!" said Sarah just mad as Hell.
Lynn cleared her throat which stopped Sarah's conversation and turned the two women's attention toward the door.
"Come in Lynn, you can begin by helping Joyce with answering some of our pile of mail. This is your desk for now till I find the perfect type of work for your talents!" said Sarah.
Sarah walked out giving a angered look at Joyce as Lynn sat down at her messy desk. "My, first it was Ken having to be counceled by Sir DeVile' this morning for some actions and now Sarah's on your case about those bureau's, seems a little hot around here!" said Lynn as she egged at Joyce.
"Look Honey I suggest you begin to handle this fucking paper work less you find a new and more thrilling way to work about this farm. Lusious has helped others like you find a lifestyle more suitable for work on the farm, and he's no fun to work around!" grumbled Joyce.
Lynn gave a little smile but was beginning to understand some of the goings on about her new job.
