Realising that your hopes of trying anything new has just been stolen away, you struggle against the leash, trying to get away. Above you, Gene laughs even more and asks, "So how did you do it? How did you turn me into something not quite male, but also not quite female?" and then laughs at your antics to get away.
Dragging you, he finally stops and looking about, you realise that you've led to a park, but for some reason it's all rather hazy and you can't remember what park this is or even where it is. Sitting on a bench, Gene reaches over and ties the leash to one of the bench's legs and just sits and watches you. After a bit, he begins to explain.
"You see, after I left you, both of us parting to go our way, I had a purpose and place to be. But on the way to said place," he paused and then said, "This is going to sound really funny and I'm kind of embarrassed to say this, but I can't remember where I was going or who I was going to see." And then he chuckled, a soft, feminine sound and grew quiet.
Looking at you as you struggled against the leash, he finally continued after a bit. "Somehow, I don't know how, I wandered into a shop. A magick shop. Curious, I began to look about. Picking up items here, touching certain items there. And then it happened."
Another pause and he bent down and picked you up. And then much to your surprise and embarrassed he turned you around and remarked, "I guess the pink collar does make your gender female. I wonder if that includes sex as well," and then set you down on the bench.
Horrified, and knowing for some reason that your sex and gender match, you jump down off the bench and go back to your struggling. Above you, Gene remains silent. And then, after a moment, he begins to talk again.
"I don't know what item it was, but something I picked up partially restored my old memories, giving me a glimpse of who I used to be. At the same time, part of my new life vanished and I was aware that something was wrong. Aware that I am not supposed to be some gender neutral person, acting sometimes totally feminine and other times acting masculine. Having both male and female thoughts and impulses. Something about awareness told me this was wrong."
A pause and then, "When I straightened this out, I was suddenly aware of who had done this to me and that person was you. Wanting revenge, realising I was in a magick shop, I began to browse. After a bit, I came upon that collar."
Another pause and then Gene began to laugh. As he laughed his high, feminine laugh, Gene explained, "This is going to be really funny, but I just realised that I have no way to turn you back and you have no way to tell me how to revert to my original self. In a way, we are both damned unless I decide to return to the magick store for help."
Another pause and then Gene shook his head and said, "No. I think I'll leave you as is, Marie. This I suppose is a fitting punishment. Someday I'll figure out a way to revert back, but you can live the rest of you life as a bitch for what you did."
Scared, listening to all of this, wanting desperately to get away, you watched as Gene stood and reached down to undo the leash from the leg. As Gene did this, an idea flashed into your head and without thinking about it, you charged forward the moment the leash was free, startling Gene in the process.
Instead of moving toward Gene as you charged, you instead made a beeline for the bench and just as you were ducking underneath, Gene made a wild grasp for the leash. Still moving, sensing Gene's movements, you continued forward and under the bench, barely registering the clicking noise as the leash released from the collar. Unaware of this, wanting only to get away and find a way out of your current predicament, you dash across the park, listening to Gene rant and rave somewhere behind you.
