PHUK'd Up: Straight to the ER

added by no1Uknow 14 years ago O

The glass doors to the ER swung open and nearly knocked a wounded man down from his crutches. The glass was smeared with shit and blood as the form of a young teenage skunkette hobbled through into the Emergency Room lobby. She was wearing a nasty blood and shit shirt that may have been white at some point in the past, with navy blue torn up slacks that were missing most of their cloth from the knees down.

From the knees down, her black furred legs were ripped into shreds, and the only two things keeping her walking were her determination and the fact this was all a video game. She stumbled and fell, sliding forward a ways across the floor, her tail up and into the air behind her as she whimpered at the twisting of her ankle.

"Get a doctor!" an orderly who looted to be a Satyr with a goat lower half called out as he rushed to Stephanie's side, getting her arm up over his shoulders as he stood up and clopped slowly towards the counter with his hoofed feet. His outfit was green and white, and he had a bit of a reverb to his voice.

Normally Denise wouldn't be seen being helped by anyone, but this wasn't him, and this wasn't even a normal situation. Taking out a Giant Crocodile in the sewers while simultaneously having the time of his life was not something he started the day expecting. This game was awesome, and pain or no pain, it was different and interesting and damnit… it was fun.

Stephanie gave a slight glance over her shoulder back out the way she had come. Leveling up by way of the Croc was one thing, but discovering that Kenneth had a single Fast Travel Token on his mutilated corpse was quite the bonus to him trying to gank her. She smiled weakly to herself, wondering he'd try anything in the Hospital. She hoped he did.

An FTT let Stephanie effectively teleport to one three locations… the entrance to the last dungeon she'd entered, the trainer to allow her to train her skills up, or the closest Hospital. At this time, the Hospital seemed the most prudent.

Her head was throbbing from loss of blood, and her vision blurred in and out for a few moment as she lost track of where she was. As this happened, she missed the transition from the ER lobby to the room she found herself laying in the bed of. She couldn't remember the lobby, the people in it, or even what floor she might be on… inconvenient in case she still needed to make a hasty retreat.

Denise laid there thinking back on where he'd hit the bag of goodies out in the alleyway, thinking it should be safe enough to grab on his way out. He began to plot and plan what he would train up for the two levels he made off the Croc and perhaps what side-leveling he intended to take up. The Dodge the previous owner of Stephanie had her really saved their ass.

The room she found herself in was very white, metal, and a little futuristic. The bed plate she was laying against had a wide gap where her rump and tail would go through the back, meant to keep her in the proper position for good blood flow. There was a thin blanket up over her, and a little monitor next to the bed making it's little beep beep beep.

Below the covers, she could tell her legs were wrapped tightly and with casts over the top of them. She had a needle in her arm hooked up to some device that seemed to be feeling a clear liquid into her veins. It was uncomfortable, and Denise didn't like needles, but he decided the Stephanie didn't mind. She was a badass.

"Miss Louis," a young man in a doctor's outfit said as he came into the room. He was human and kind of balding, and was the first time she'd been so close to one while she'd been online. Part of her consider that he was ugly and that not being covered in fur seemed really strange. Of course, she was still lacking some blood, so that didn't make a whole lot of sense in the grand scheme of things.

"Yes I am," she said, a little dizzy.

"We wish to inform you that there was a bit of a hiccup with your insurance," the man said, looking up to see the angry and somewhat confused look on her face. "When your information was originally processed, it wouldn't go through… but all that has been rectified," he said. "I am, however, sorry to inform you that there will be a lot of scarring," he added, "But that you should be well enough to leave in a few hours."

Scarring? she thought, Fucking Awesome! Though something seemed a bit off with the timetable, so she asked: "Hours? I was maimed by a Giant Croc at least fifteen lev--" she stopped, seeing the blank look on his face that seemed to give her the feeling he was an NPC. "I mean… a Giant Croc that was easily thirteen foot tall and half a ton, tried to bite my legs off, and you're saying I'll be out in a few hours?" She wondered.

He nodded, "Wonders of modern medicine."

"And modern video games," she mumbled.

"What?

"Oh, never mind," she smiled at him, feeling better all ready. "Tell me, doc… what would it cost to replace and reinforce my body with, like, cyborg parts… or genetically engineer me into a super-mutant or be granted cosmic powers or something?" she asked, keeping a cute and cuddly look on her face as had been practiced for years.

The NPC Doctor stepped closer to the bed and leaned over towards her, "We don't practice such black market deeds at this place of healing," he said, then took out a business card and scribbled a note, handing it to her, "Though I have a friend who can help you with such things. If you see your self in a life of danger like what you experienced today, it would be wrong of me not to see to your well-being," he said, and with that, he turned and walked away.

Denise stared at the card in Stephanie's hand. He could log out, get something to eat, and be back in time for her to be released from the Hospital… and all without worrying about the cops finding him as he wouldn't be in this bed right now if he was actually wanted.

Stephanie smiled. The day was looking up.
