Stephanie stood in the middle of what she knew to be the Oriental District. The walls themselves and the ceiling and the front doors all looked similar to the First Block back where she started, but there was a certain flavor to how everything looked.
Hanging from the ceiling were longer vines than in the First Block, but also wooden lanterns with fires burning inside of them. They gave a nice warm glow to the setting sun on the horizon of the darkening sky beyond the glass roof. Along the walls were wood paneling that looked far older than the building, the the railings to the upper levels were made out of bamboo, tied together with green grasses.
She took in the scent of the Block into her furry face as she raised her muzzle, taking a few steps towards one of the restaurants there, an All-You-Can-Eat Chinese Food Buffet on the edge of the Block leading into the Food court. Just opposite the restaurant, on the other side of the hall, was another restaurant that was also AYCE, but it was Japanese.
She smiled and looked up and down the isle. There seemed to be some weapon shops, clothing stores, businesses (one looked Triad, one looked Yakuza) that really didn't look like they should be on the same city with one another, let alone the same long hallway.
Finally, there was The Ointment Store. Stephanie moved her skunkette self out to right in front of the store and peered in through the window. Part of her was sure she'd heard of this place on The Internet somewhere. It appeared Chinese, but she couldn't much tell by what was inside. Vials, Items, Suits, and other bits decorated the store.
On the front door was a sign that said, "Expanded Inventory, connection to Black Market District through back wardrobe to Suite 2612," it said, and she tilted her head. Black Market was the District completely opposite Third Block where she was… she had to wonder if there was, like, a mystical doorway that connected the two or something… or just a basement hallway.
She stepped back and looked up and down the Block, wondering where to go next… since she had someone she could see down through the Black Market District, walking through The Ointment Store seemed a viable option, but there were so many other interesting place around.
