Jamie and Carla trodfed into the room with the slow and deliberate pace of two bovines in no hurry. If they were even aware that they weren't human anymore, or, more accurately, that they ever were human, they didn't show it.
"Woooooww..." Carla lowed as she looked around the room. "This place is fancy..."
Sure enough, the room actually was "fancy". Instead of the farm quarters they expected, they were treated to a lavish room equipped with many luxuries specially designed for cows and bulls with semi-human intellect. There was a milking harness, a television, a wide double door leading to a grassy pasture, and more.
"Hello," a sterile, mechanical voice announced as the two entered.
"WhoOOOOO said that?" Jamie asked, his nostrils flaring.
"I did, your Digital Assistance Navigator. But you may call me DAN."
"GoOOOO away, Dan," Jamie huffed, getting territorial. To his dimmed mind, Dan was a male and thus competition. "Carla is mine."
"Jamie, DAN is a rOOOObot," Carla moo'd with a shake of her head. She wasn't as smart as she was as a human, but she was smarter than her bull.
"Well, no, not exactly, but if the only way you can understand what I am is as a robot, then yes, I'm a robot. I am here to facilitate your habitat. Ask and I shall deliver. But first I would ask that you both head into the shower in the back so I may remove your clothing and wash you."
Carla and Jamie looked to each other and then walked with a loping pace into the bathroom. Kamir was a but eager - the sooner they could get naked, the sooner he could fulfill his urge to mate with Carla.
DAN hadn't told them the whole truth - while it was true that he was to help the cows navigate the room, a task they'd find difficult alone on account of sheer stupidity and no hands, he was primarily there to record data on their adjustments to their new lives and report to the mysterious mastermind...
