"Sorry, Rex, but it's time for another show. Come on, Rex, we both gotta eat," said Milo fastening the rope around Ryan/Rex's neck and leading him out of the bedroom.
The house seemed to be the same mansion that Ryan and the others had entered earlier, but everything was freshly varnished, painted and new. It was more than a bit unnerving, as he trotted naked on all fours down the staircase following Milo's big butt down the stairs. Milo led Rex out across the muddy paddock behind some buildings that weren't part of the Spelstrom Estate at least not when Ryan had entered it. There were two rough wooden cages behind a burlap tarp. On the other side of the tarp, Ryan could see men gathered on benches around a rail fenced pen.
"Come on, Rex, don't play dumb. Get in your cage, and I'll get in mine," said Milo undoing the rope from around Rex's neck. Milo then started to get out of his clothing.
Rex's eyes widened and his tail and ears drooped as he noticed that Milo was getting bigger and hairier as he undressed.
"I'll wager 50 pounds on the bear!" shouted one of the men from the benches.
"We haven't even seen the animals yet. The bear might've mange? Or be a cub, remember at Birkshire's last fortnight, they had a cub fight a mastiff!"
"Still if it's not a cub, a bear will beat a dog anytime."
"I've been here before, and that dog Rex wins every time."
"I been here too, and I think the bears were the same one. It's just a trained bear and dog act."
"Well, act or not, it can't be the same bear, as I helped skin it myself after Rex finished him."
Rex turned his attention to Milo again, and his ears perked up and his jaw dropped as he saw an anthropomorphic bear in the cage opposite him.
"Don't worry," grunted Milo, "That's why I grow bigger, so there's plenty of pelt for them to skin off me. Just go for my throat and I'll be dead, and they'll skin me, and tonight we'll eat well." The bear chuckled as his humanity faded before Rex's startled eyes.
Ryan was confused, and angry. He had been turned into a dog against his will. Okay, maybe he was a bigger than he had been, but he had wanted to be a bigger human. Maybe he'd turn back if Milo "killed" him. He didn't like that prospect if it didn't turn him back. He didn't like being part of a con game either.
The pirate guy pulled back the tarp, and asked, "Are you two ready yet?"
