Dawn stirred beside you and looked at you having been woken up by your scream. You hadn't realized that she was there until she asked "What's wrong sweetie?"
You look at her and say "What's wrong!? What's wrong!? I'm a girl that's what's wrong. I'm not suppose to be a girl. I was born a guy."
Dawn sighed and said "You agreed to this though. You even said that you wanted to me girlfriend."
"That was a dream though" you said not sounding too sure about that as you continue to stare at your body.
"There is something you need to know" Dawn said turning your head so you were looking at her. "What you experienced was indeed a dream but not an ordinary dream."
"What do you mean?" you asked curious enough to calm down.
"Do you know what Lucid Dreaming is?" Dawn asked.
"I do" you said nodding. "It's when you know you're dreaming and can control the dream. What does that have to do with this?" You point to your body for emphasis.
"The dream you had is like a Lucid Dream" Dawn said speaking in a soft voice. "This type of dream is something more. We call it Dream Weaving."
"What's that?" you asked not sure where this was going.
"Dream Weaving is controlling your dreams and making changes in the dream that also happen in waking life" Dawn explained. "We call ourselves, the ones that can weave dreams, Dream Weavers. Everyone in this sorority is a Dream Weaver."
"Everyone?" you asked starting to think you had a false awakening and that you were still dreaming.
"Yes everyone" Dawn said nodding. "That includes you."
"But... but... but I can't be a Dream Weaver" you stammer. "I don't control my dreams."
Dawn smiled and said "Control comes with practice." She then frowns and gets a sad puppy dog look in her eyes as she asks "You don't remember the first dream you met me in do you?"
You shake your head and say "I don't usually remember my dreams."
Dawn sighed and said "You'll remember your dreams now. I'll tell you what I know of that dream. Two weeks ago I was changing a girl who thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world. She had guys lining up to go out with her. Her beauty only went skin deep though. She would lead the guys on and have sex with them then dump them immediately after. Sometimes she would dump them during sex and leave them with Blue Balls. She would put other girls down saying they were very ugly." She stopped and took a breath while shaking her head before continuing. "Anyway, I was changing her when you walked up and asked if you could join the sorority."
"I did?" you asked interrupting her.
Dawn nodded saying "You did. Now the sorority sisters her use the dream version of the house as a private place. There are wards put up so the only way someone can come in through a dream is to be invited or be a Dream Weaver. Since I was in the house and you came in without being invited I knew you were a Dream Weaver. We introduced ourselves and I told you that I would have to talk with my sisters. We decided last night to accept you into the sorority."
"This is unbelievable" you say looking back down at your body. Did you really want to join this sorority?
Dawn laid back down saying "Believe it. You are now a nineteen year old girl going to college."
You laid back down too though a bit more heavily than Dawn saying "This is a bit much. I don't know if I'll be able to get my course work done."
Dawn giggled and said "One of the advantages of being a Dream Weaver is that you can do work in your sleep."
"Why haven't I heard of Dream Weavers before now?" you asked thinking that people with such power would be able to cure all the world's woes.
"There are only fifty in the whole world now" Dawn said. "Seven of them being in this sorority. Before you ask you are the seventh one in this sorority and the fiftieth in the world."
"Why don't the Dream Weavers fix the world's woes?" you asked. "I'll certainly be doing that. Perhaps turn certain people into pigs or maybe trash."
"It doesn't work like that" Dawn said with a heaviness in her voice. "Our power has limits. We can only change a persons age, sex, or anything about their body. We can also swap two people with each other. We can't turn them into animals or plants or inanimate objects. We can't change anybody mentally. Then there's the fact that the world's woes are really big."
"But reality does change through our dreams, right?" you asked uncertain if you wanted to know the answer.
"It does change" Dawn confirmed. "Though we can not control exactly how it changes. Since we can't change someone's mind the changes are what they would make in that body. Take you for example. You came wanting to join the sorority and go to college. Now reality has changed so you are though the courses your taking are the courses you chose. We didn't choose them for you."
"I see" you said. "How long will it take me to learn to control my dreams?"
"Depends" Dawn said. "Some are able to learn to control their dreams in days where others take weeks or even months to learn." She rolled over on her side and kissed you. Pulling back and smiling she asked "So should we get up or stay in bed? We still need to go get you some clothes so maybe we should get up and go shopping after taking a shower of course." She said this last part with a grin that left no doubt about what she wanted to do in the shower and it didn't involve her being in there alone.
