The bell rang, and suddenly the two new girls were alone in a sea of
students changing classes. Kathryn had apparently vanished. She
wasn't too far away, she wanted to see what happened next. She didn't
have to wait long.
Rick Brunt had been riding Tony all year. They had competed in
wrestling, and for girls, and Tonia rolled her eyes when she saw him
headed her direction.
She hissed to Carla, "I bet he knows I'm a girl now, and wants to rub
my nose in it."
"I don't recognize you, he won'e either. Just be cool. Remember you
want to get laid."
"Not by Rick Brunt, I don't."
"You need a couple hundred, and last time I checked there are that
many more guys in this school. Besides, you said that Rick was gay, so
he won't be interested in you."
"No, I said Barbara Reynolds asked if he was my gay bf because we both
hassled her with questions about the other guy - well, I mean what did
she expect dating both of us at the same time. Of course we'd be
curious."
"Hello, beautiful. I haven't made the acquaintance, I'm Rick Brunt.
If I may be blunt, may I show you around the school, and take you out
tonight. Then every night this week, and then for the rest of your
life. I know this sounds corny. I've never believed in love at first
sight before, but you. (sigh) I want you to bear my children."
Kathryn nearly fell off her perch above the false ceiling when she
heard this. Then her eyes widened. What were the odds. Maybe she wasn'
the only one casting spells at this school today. She looked around
suspiciously, she could just as easily fall victim to another witch if
she was caught unawares.
"Listen, Mr. Brunt, I d-"
"What my friend Tonia is trying to say, Rick, is that she would be
delighted to take you up on your offer for today, but there are a lot
of other boys in the school and it wouldn't be fair for her to deprive
them of her company until she gets to know every guy at the school
first. By the way, my name's Karla."
