Ben climbed to his open window and looked out across the yard at the neighbor's house as he crouched on the window sill. He looked at the trees between the houses and took a flying leap. He caught hold of one branch, and felt it bend under his weight. He heard it start to crack, but had already swung to the next tree. He landed on a much stronger limb. He might have a little difficulty going back the way he came, but he'd deal with that later.
He inched along the branch to position his gorilla body for his final leap. He realized that adult gorilla's really don't like being in trees - that he was much to heavy for arborial life like a monkey. Still he felt at home in the tree. He took another jump and his long hairy arm caught hold of the windowsill. It was a hot night, so the neighbor's window was also open. One handed, Ben hoisted his tremendous bulk up on to the window sill. He felt it sag slightly beneath him. His father always had said that the neighbor's house was cheaply built. He quietly stepped through the window into the darkened room. He let his eyes adjust to the darkness. He could hear someone snoring in the room, and he sniffed the air. That someone was male. An image of the scent formed in his mind, and he frowned. His ape mind was picturing a funny looking ape - he realized it was a human. A human male was sleeping in the room. He had to be quiet, but he was also curious. A human male smelled very different to a gorilla from what Ben thought human males smelled like. This was stronger than the pungent odor of the locker room. Slowly, Ben knuckle walked over toward the bed where the guy lay snoring. His eyesight adjusted to the low light levels and he recognized the sleeping man as...
