Jack/Sophia curled up into as much of a ball as she could as a whining noise escaped through her snout and mouth. The feeling of wanting to pass out again grew and darkness swam into her vision.
"No," Jack/Sophia thought as another spike of pain rippled through her head.
It had taken her two and half hours to get the door to the bathroom open, all the while trying to hold onto her human consciousness and push back the dog that wanted to slip into place. Now she lay on the hallway floor, tongue lolling out, breathing coming hard and unconsciousness swimming in and out.
Struggling upward, a flash of vertigo washed over Jack/Sophia and something inside her mind screamed that she was being bad and her owner was going to punish her, but she didn't care.
Trembling paws, she pushed upward and held herself like that for a minute and then with a lot of difficulty, she began to walk down the hallway toward Vicky's room...where she knew the other half of the Red Riding Hood Costume was waiting and hopefully a way out of this nightmare.
Panting, Jack/Sophia told herself, "I...am...not...a...dog! I...don't...know...what...I...am! But...I...know...it's...not...a...dog!"
Her vision swam and she almost passed out. Then breathing a somewhat sigh of relief, she reached Vicky's room, glad when she realised that her friend had left her door open. Paws slipping out from beneath her, Jack/Sophia lay on the floor, panting heavily. Inside her head a sharp spike of pain ripped through her head and the dog she had become attempted to take control.
"I...am...not...a...bitch!" Jack/Sophia thought as she struggled once again upward. "I...am...a...human...ma...ma..ma...male," she told herself as she began to walk forward into her roommates room.
Inside, she wondered briefly how she would see anything and then realised that with the curtains open and the moonlight streaming through the window, the room was bright enough to make out what was what. And then her heart skipped a beat as she saw on the floor, not two feet from her, the second skin costume.
Struggling forward, Jack/Sophia thought, "Put...it...on...find...the...store...and...try...to...return...to...my...human...form."
Another spike of pain and she began to cough, something that sounded strange to her, mostly because Jack/Sophia had never heard a dog cough and didn't know if they could do such an action.
Once again her paws gave out and the blackness swam into her vision, but she fought it as she realised that her front paw was touching the arm of the second skin. Crawling forward, she wondered briefly how she was to put it on and instead resigned herself to just crawl in and hope that whatever caused the transformation would take effect.
-------
She must have blacked out, because when she awoke, the moonlight was not as strong and looking up, Jack/Sophia realised that the moon had shifted to a new position in the sky. "But I suppose the good thing is my head is a lot clearer," she thought out loud and then promptly clapped a hand over her mouth as she realised that she had spoken aloud and it hadn't come out as a barking noise.
Terrified, Jack/Sophia looked down and breathed a sigh of relief as she saw pale, naked pink skin instead of the black fur of a Chihuahua. Standing on two legs, she tried to remember who she was, but it was all jumbled about.
Her consciousness swam with images and for some reason she believed that she was an eight-year-old girl named Sophia Jakk, her parents had been dogs and that at one time she had been a male who had a sexual preference for other males.
"That's silly," she told herself and then realised that she was standing naked in someone's room, but couldn't remember whose bedroom it belonged too. Scared that she had been kidnapped, Sophia looked to the door and breathed another sigh of relief when she saw the door was open. Stepping toward it, she stopped turned and walked toward the dresser.
Opening different drawers, she eventually extracted a large white shirt and putting it on, finding it came down past her knees, Sophia wandered out of the bedroom.
Finding herself in a hallway, she looked in one room, saw that it was a storage room and pressed onward. The next room revealed a bathroom, but Sophia quickly grew bored with looking in rooms and decided to find an exit out this place.
Walking through a living room, she saw several pictures of a Fox-Woman, usually posing with a Fox-Man. Thinking that something about the looked familiar, Sophia told herself, "I'll figure it out later and continued to look for the door out...which she did find after casting about in the dark for a couple more minutes.
Out in the hall, she asked herself, "Now what," and then thought, "I need to find Second Skin...Whatever that is."
Nodding at this course of action, Sophia located the stairs going down and began to make her way downstairs, hoping that she knew where she was supposed to be going and that she wasn't missing something important to who she was and why she had appeared naked in someone's apartment.
