*Co-Author's Note: This may seem rushed, but my Internet has been acting up and I've rewritten this chapter a lot. I humbly apologize and am preparing to chuck the tower into Android Hell. I also apologize for the Portal reference.*
Kelly and Lindsey, exhausted from worry, had resigned themselves to watching massive overdoses of TV. At the time, they were watching old reruns of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. All morning, they had been watching this bizarre mish-mash of Japanese Zyuranger stock footage and American footage.
They were both rather silent, although the show would ocassionally warrant a sarcastic remark from both of them that even they couldn't contain, and that helped to ease their worry somewhat.
Finally, the phone rang, and Kelly tentatively pressed the "talk" button. She drew a deep breath and held it as Dr. Perkin's deep voice told her the news.
"As for you, Kelly," he started, after giving his formal introduction, "you are producing the hormones naturally, as I expected."
Kelly's heart skipped a beat as the images of her two team mates' bodies flashed through her mind.
"As for your sister, she's not producing them, yet, being prepubescent. However, that could change, and quickly, if we don't start treatment to get the hormones out of her body very soon. Once she hits puberty, her body may see the hormone as the natural thing its supposed to produce, and then there's nothing we can do. Changes could very well begin to impact her now, given her general size and weight, but she's out of the woods in the long run for now. I'll be calling back in a few days with a definite course of action to take on her part."
Kelly hung up the phone and left to give Lindsey the news. At the very least, Kelly thought, her sister might still be saved from her fate. As far as herself goes, Kelly figured it best to take some pictures before she looked like her classmates.
"They're such nerds," Kelly smiled inwardly, admiring their courage. They were both trying to get into Brown... "Just like Kyle has been," she noted.
