"Why don't we just confront him at his house?" asked Jennifer.
"That would work too," replied Anita, putting the book on the shelf.
Anita and Jennifer left the library and walked the three blocks to Kyle's house, talking strategy the entire time. They decided the direct approach would be best, with both Jennifer and Anita walking up to him, hoping Jennifer's presence would throw him off, so he wouldn't see the "Transform or Dare" coming.
As they rounded the corner and Kyle's house came into view, they could see him standing on the lawn, no doubt waiting for Jennifer to show up.
When Jennifer laid eyes on Kyle, something in her changed. The last part of Kyle's Transform or Dare fell into place. Kyle's words echoed in her mind, "You will also follow me as my beautiful and willing bride..."
In an odd and twisted way, these words gave her a sense of comfort. She had a serene feeling come over her as she and Anita walked over to him.
"Hi honey!" Jennifer called out.
"Honey?" asked Anita.
"Anita, this is Kyle, my love," said Jennifer.
"Hi Anita," said Kyle, with a big smile on his face.
"Anita has the Transform or Dare Kyle," said Jennifer.
Anita was stunned. "What the hell is going on?"
"Anita, I should explain. I cursed Jennifer so that her right eye would be changed so that if anyone looked into it, they would be changed into a mythical creature. Pretty cool, right? The other part, the part I have a feeling she initially forgot about was the part where she also fell in love with me, which apparently kicked in once she saw me," said Kyle. "Does that pretty much bring you up to speed?"
Anita stood there dumbfounded. "There is no way this can be real. This all one big practical joke, right?"
"Don't believe me? Look into her eye," said Kyle, reaching up to take off Jennifer's sunglasses. Anita quickly shut her eyes tight.
"No!" she cried out, keeping her eyes shut.
"Alright, alright, I won't make you look right now," said Kyle. He scanned the neighborhood for another victim. He noticed his friend and neighbor Nate walking out of his house towards the mailbox. "Hey Nate, come over here for a minute!"
Nate walked over to Kyle, Jennifer and Anita. He was a big guy, standing six foot four, fairly thin, with a little muscle definition. He had been friends with Kyle since he had moved in several years back. He went to school with all three of them though.
"Hey guys, what's up?" he asked.
"Nate, I was wondering if you could take a look at Jennifer's eye for me," asked Kyle.
"Sure," said Nate. "Did you get something stuck in there?"
Anita snuck a peek and saw that Jennifer had her back to them and was facing Nate. Jennifer lifted up her sunglasses and Nate stared right into the eye.
"Whoa, what is up with that one eye? Did you get one of those crazy contacts or something?" he asked.
Anita opened her eyes all the way and breathed a sigh of relief. It was a contact lens. It was joke. But then she took a closer look at Nate. He was changing...but into what?
