"Wanna check out the neighborhood?" Andy asked.
The three girls left the campus after checking out all the departments (both girls frowned when they saw that the college shirts were currently only being sold in short sleeves), and trying to get an idea of what the students at Brown were like. They departed for some shopping in the district surrounding the campus on a mission for some turtle necks. Jen half wondered if she should buy a breast pump or if Carol had one that she and Lisa could borrow. Her breasts were feeling tender, and although Lisa didn't say anything, she suspected that her friend was having the same troubles. Best to talk it over with Carol, who would be furious if the girls started keeping these things from her.
Even Andy went on a search for clothes, which was difficult for her, given her rather tall stature. As she rushed in and out of changing stations, searching for a pair of pants that weren't too short in the legs, people often took long sidelong glances at Jen and Lisa, who were waiting patiently for Andy's next reappearance.
Even the cashiers seemed to be staring at the girls as they purchased their items. Each time someone seemed to be reluctant to take cash from either of the two girls, Andy would retort, "It's not contagious, you know," followed by a quick pat on the head. It hadn't taken long for Jen to realize that Andy, despite her good intentions and the fact that she seemed to find both girls genuinely pretty, she could also be very boisterous in her manner, attracting unwanted attention. Namely, in this case people from all over would promptly turn to see exactly what wasn't contagious.
As they headed out, Jen's cellphone rang.
"Darling, it's Mom!"
Here goes, thought Jen.
"I was wondering out things were working out with Brown and how things were going with you-know-what."
