Audrey cried softly to herself as she sat on her sofa. When was it that she and Jen drifted so far apart? Of course, she knew the answer. It was when she'd gotten her promotion and began to travel more. Jen was just a child, and her grandmother had been the one to raise her most of the time. Audrey knew that, to her daughter, from that point on, she was little more than a visitor who would frequent the house from time to time. The years flew by, and soon Audrey found that she and Jen had little in common. She didn't know what Jen's favorite movie was, or what kind of music she listened to. She knew her academic present and future, and her other school activities, but little to nothing outside of these things.
And now, she'd been following the case on television, and had recieved a summons to testify in court. She knew that big things were happening, that her daughter was in pain, and the chasm between them was so vast that touching bases again would take a tremendous amount of effort on both their parts. Audrey didn't want to do it - to see her daughter change so rapidly, but she knew that if she didn't act in some way, she may lose her daughter in more ways than one.

"It's going to get pretty bad," Jen replied.
Emma looked slightly worried at that response, and Lisa had reverted to her normal, introverted self, so Jen elaborated. "It won't be pretty. In fact, by next year, you wouldn't be able to recognize us if you saw us. We'll be covered in hair, from the tops of our heads to the ends of our toes. We'll be producing milk, which must be desposed of quickly. On the positive side, unless you ask Connie, we'll also experiences some muscle growth."
"I see." Emma and Nicky exchanged a look. "I hope they find a cure for you guys."
"So, do you have any idea what the trial is going to be like?" Nicky asked.
"A media hype," Jen replied. She actually didn't want to think of the trial. They'd be looking quite different by then, and who knew what their facial hair would be doing by that time.
