I opened door #2 which swung free and easy considering it's mass and size. Walking into the torch lit tunnel I looked back toward Alexis. She was no where in sight! The door to the tunnel was swinging closed as I saw her looking down into tunnel #3. I yelled for her to come with me but she walked into #3 as if in some foggy daze.
A thud and the sound of a latch catching held me inside tunnel #2. I pressed on the door for all I was worth but it wouldn't budge.
"Well this is only a Fun House and she can tell me of her experiance when we meet in a few minutes." I said aloud to myself.
The heat in the rock lined tunnel was quite warm. I was soon sweating as I walked the spiral tunnel down and down. The muffled sounds of people screaming and calling for help seemed to come from the other side of the rock walls. I was impressed with the techinque of instilling fear in a person, this place was neat!
As I rounded a corner a window of bright orange light came into view. I ran over to look but later wished I'd never looked. Out as far as one could see was a boiling pit of lava. As the bubbles of heat boiled to the surface I saw people and animals being thrown about on fire. The piercing sound of screams came thru the glass but the glass seemed cool.
"Wild!" I thought, this was some great illusion of Hell but no hot glass window.
Walking farther down the tunnel I saw a steel door. I approached it but as my hand reached to touch the latch the waves of searing heat suggested I don't grab hold. The door radiated such heat my clothes began to smoke.
I'd had enough the semon of the minister last Sunday had made a connection. The fear of Hell was in me as I ran down the tunnel in fond hope of getting out soon.
The tunnel began to widen and widen more and more till a thousand people could stand abreast and stiil be comfortable when waiting for the row of what might be a thousand steel doors. As I walked the long line of doors the heat blazed thru them like the one back up the hall.
I was not real interested in walking into a furnace so I took to walking down the long line of doors. In the distance I saw a dark figure standing and it's eyes glowed a bright yellow.
The closer I walked the bigger the figure became till I stood in front of a tweleve foot tall black hooded man.
"Samuel J. Corbin, you have a decission to make here and now. You may join the throngs of others in the fires of Hell or become one of my subjects and work my bidding in the world above. Yours is the choice!" said the figure of a tall man in a gravelly deep voice.
"How did you know my voice? Oh Alexis put you up to this somehow didn't she well....." I said but got cut off.
"Alexis has choosen her new way of life and joined many as one of my most aluring subjects!" stated the figure.
"Well it's hot as Hell down here and I'd prefer the cooler air above. So how about I become one of your s-u-b-j-e-c-t-s and I get out of here!" said I.
He waved me to a small tunnel which had a very bright light at the other end. He had to duck down to enter but I just walked into the narrow tunnel. The sounds of screams had changed to muffled sounds of animals crying and screaming as if in pain. The air cooled till it got very cold and the sweat on my arms began to freeze.
As I stepped into the light I looked about a found myself in a very clean Lab type room and a plump doctor looking figure smiling at me.
The tall man stood up and announced me as a subject for his Earthly plans. The doctor bowed and the tall man turned and went back down the tunnel.
"Well Samuel J. Corbin I have the perfect position for you to do the Master's bidding. He wants his new subjects to be aluring and willing to help people learn to play with or as animals. Why we often get women and or men who dress up in horse like harness for silly rituals of dominance and sex. Our Master has instead planned a better way for these people and weaklings to find their true fortune in chosing a way of life more suitable!" Laughing the doctor man turns to his Lab table and picks up a big seringe.
