As Mark walked upstairs he could hear Scott trying to talk his way into his and Max's room. As Mark approached Scott sighed, "He's locked the door and doesn't want to talk with anyone. Do you think you could try?"
"Yah, I'll see what's up," Mark nodded. Scott left and went to start dinner. Mark knocked on the door, "Max? Can you let me in please?" There was no reply. "Max... Open the door, it's my room too you know. You can't just lock it on me..." Mark listened as he heard foot steps, then the click of the lock. The door opened and Max peered through excepting to see more than just Mark. After seeing only him, Max walked back over to the foot of his bed followed by Mark who shut the door behind him. "Max, what happened?"
Max was frustrated and annoyed, he huffed and lied down ignoring his brother, Mark wasn't going anywhere. "Max! What the hell?! You can't even talk to ME about it?!"
"It's nothing!" Was Max's muffled response from the pillow.
"Ya... That's just what Luke said..." Mark rolled his eyes. "The two of you must have had one hell of a fight because you've always been able to talk to me about them afterwords."
"We didn't fight..." Max whispered into his pillow.
"What? I can't hear you." Mark leaned over his twin brother.
"We didn't fight!" Max yelled as he turned over to face Mark.
"Well, what happened then?" Mark lied down beside Max's right side, putting his left arm under him and pulling him close. "Or do I have to use that twin telepathy crap?"
Max grinned in spite of himself and Mark did the same. Max looked over at his brother, "Ok, I'll tell you."
Max explained to Mark what had happened. His crash down the stairs with Luke, the small fight that broke out, he and Luke making up, and then how he got confused and Luke thought they should spend some time apart.
"Wow." Mark was surprised, "I had no idea Luke felt that strongly about you. Do you feel the same for him?"
Max shut his eyes and took a few deep breathes before looked back at Mark with a smile. "Ya... I really I do... I love being around him. We have a lot of fun together when we get along. We have the same scene of humor, we like the same things. Plus, he's cute when he's angry! I... love him."
Mark rolled on top of Max and hugged him. "Well I think that settles it. You should go see him and tell him yourself. Bets laying here all angry... Really, whats with that? Getting all mad because you're in love?"
"I don't know!" Max laughed, "I guess it was because he wanted to be apart..."
"Ok. Well. Let's go eat! I'm starving! Ethan ate for me and him when we were together, but that was awhile ago." Mark hopped up and started to the door.
"Wait!" Max jumped up and ran right behind his brother to hug him. "Thank you Mark... I... I'm grateful to have you."
"No problem!" Mark cheered, patting Max's arms that were wrapped around the front of his chest. "That's what twins are for, right?!" Mark could feel Max squeezing him tightly, so tightly, he felt himself sinking into Max. "Really Max? Right now?"
"Yup!" Max grinned as Mark and his bodies merged together, with two heads, four arms, and three legs. "That's what conjoined twins are for, right?! Now let's eat, you're making our stomach growl!"
