After you and Matt finished dancing around in joy, Zedis invited all
three of you in for tea and something to eat, after Hector, you, and
Matt got dressed. Happily, all of you sat down around the table; you
and Matt sat at opposite ends. Zedis summoned all of the refreshments
with magic. You and Matt had three helpings, neither of you had a good
meal in several days.
Unfortuntly, this happiness did not last long. During the meal, You
felt a sudden pain in your chest. Looking down, you noticed your chest
was glowing. You lifted your shirt, and were startled to the curse
symbol glowing. Matt must of felt similarly because he too lifted his
shirt; his symbol was also glowing. Suddenly, you and Matt fell to the
floor, screaming in pain. It was unbearable. Your whole right side
felt like it was dying. Hector and Zedis jumped up.
You and Matt began convulsing. Zedis quickly ran over to you, and
began chanting words that you could not understand. He was examining
what the symbol was doing. He finally woke up from his trance, and
yelled at Hector to carry Matt over by you. Hector laid Matt on the
right side of you, and the magic of the curse began to take effect.
You and Matt were mering together once again. Once the process was
finished, the pain ended as abruptly as it began; you and Matt were
once again sharing a body from your necks down. The curse symbol was
complete once again on your shared chest.
Both of you struggle to catch your breathes. Breathing hard, you say,
"What...happ..ened...Why are...we like this...again."
Zedis explains, "I don't know for sure, but I have a theory. My
potion, of course, did separate you, but the curse merged you back
together."
"That's obvious!" Matt angrily exclaimed.
"Please, let me continue." Zedis said. He cleared his throat and
continued. "I believe that the curse keeps the two of you joined, but
the curse also allows you to separate at will."
"What?" you and Matt exclaimed.
"Yes, I believe you can use the curse to separate yourselves once you
learn how, but...there is a catch. I think you can only remain
separated for a short while. If you exceed that time, the curse will
slowly kill you until you merge together again. And unfortunately...I
can do nothing about it. The curse is permanent.
