The red suit and thick white beard made Jenny gasp, she didn’t realise how loud she’d been until the large figure turned sharply in her direction and headed towards her door.
“Ho, ho, ho” he said. To Jenny the friendly chuckle took on a sinister twist as Father Christmas approached her bedroom door. She screamed for help but the other bedroom doors remained firmly shut, with no sign that her parents or sister had heard her.
With surprising speed Santa was in the room with her and was smiling broadly, Jenny was terrified and tried to stay as far away from him as possible.
“You’re not real!” She whispered.
“Oh Jenny, It’s unfortunate for you that on this one occasion I am” He said softly, his voice was not full of anger or hate but joy and laughter, which made it more disturbing.
“What do you want?” Jenny asked timidly. The man in the red suit put a hand on his chin thoughtfully and said,
“Most would imagine me loving and caring, a man of sharing and giving. But alas, I am but an agent of Kyle Perkin’s curse. Once this task is complete I will cease to exist”
Jenny screamed again, but no one came. “What will you do with me?”
“A good present needs to be wrapped, and considering how good a present you are you will need to be wrapped by experts”
“Please, you can’t do this, I’m a person, I have rights and a life, Please, I’m not some toy to be opened on Christmas morning!” Jenny said desperately.
“My dear, I’m afraid that’s exactly what you are” He smiled again and chuckled, “ho, ho, ho”
With remarkable speed considering his size, his hand was on Jenny’s shoulder and another was on her legs. Screaming louder and lashing out with her arms and kicking violently Jenny desperately tried to fight the incredible strength of Santa as he lifted her with ease and lowered her into the large hessian sack he had over his shoulder. She continued to scream, louder now as the sack was closed above her and the terrified teen was lifted onto the man’s back.
Only able to see through the netting of the sack she called out desperately as Santa carried her out of her room and downstairs to the fireplace.
Unable to get any attention she kicked and screamed and cried as the jolly man in the red suit climbed under the fireplace and rose to the roof. The sack did nothing to protect the young cheerleader from the bitter cold. Jenny stopped screaming as she now realised it was useless and just sat in the sack, wailing mournfully as tears poured down her face.
Through bleary eyes she made out the shape of Santa’s sleigh and the reindeer in front. Santa lifted the sack from his shoulder and Jenny was dumped in the back of the sleigh, which was completely devoid of anything else.
“Good thing I finished my round already” Santa said jovially, “Now we can go straight home again!”
With that he climbed aboard the sleigh and they were off, with the horrified Jenny Smith on board.
