Mark followed Scott's gaze to the clock. "Okay, I am getting kind of
tired of this. We've been playing Halo for an hour, and we can't even
get past the first level."
"Yeah" Zack agreed. Zack walked them over, and turned off the X box.
Zack whispered to Mark, "Would you mind if we took a break from being
joined? I mean, I really have enjoyed being stuck to you, but I would
like to spend some alone time."
"Of course Zack. I was going to ask you the same thing." Mark turned
them to face Scott and Ethan. "Hey Ethan, would you mind separating us
now? We would like to have some alone time now."
Ethan stood Scott and him up. "Alright, I was wondering when you were
two were going to get tired of 'hanging out." Ethan placed both of his
hands on Mark and Zack's chest; his face contorted as he tried pushing
his hands into them. To his surprise, his hands weren't going in. He
pushed even harder, and thats when Zack started to complain about the
pain.
"Ethan!" Scott yelled. Ethan finally gave up.
"What's going on?" Mark gazed at Ethan.
"I...don't know. My fusing power isn't working." Ethan glared at his
hands.
"What do you mean?" Zack's voice jumped in octave.
"I mean...I can't unfuse you two." Ethan stated again.
Scott gave a worried glance to his friend. "Are you too tired to..."
Ethan shook his head. "No, I feel fine." Ethan then placed his hand
next to Scott, and pushed him away until they had their two upper
bodies sharing a single pair of legs. "See! I can unfuse us fine, but
them...I don't know what's going on."
Ethan looked up at the roof, as he thought about it. "I know if
someone really doesn't want to be separated, then no amount of effort
will unfuse them. Are you both absolutely positive that you want to be
separated?"
"Yeah!" They both exclaimed. Mark and Zack gave a nervous glance to
each other. Then they repeated. "We're sure."
Ethan rubbed his chin. "How long have you two been together?"
Mark and Zack exchanged a worried glance, then Mark replied, "Over
seven hours."
"Seven Hours!" Ethan exclaimed. "None of us have ever been fused that
long before."
Scott stared at Ethan, "Are you saying that there is a time limit?"
Ethan looked at Mark and Zack, then shifted his gaze back to Scott. "I
hope not; for their sake."
