"Why not go to Denise's house." Bridget suggested. "I want to show her all this!"
"She wont remember the way you were though Mom, she's younger than you now." Sara frowned.
"Thats why I'm going to take this," Bridget said, taking up the remote. "And why you are going to stay here, young lady."
"What, why?" Sara cried.
"Because, I'm going to turn Denise into Dennis..." Bridget giggled. "You need a father after all."
"But..."
"No butts, and just to be sure you don't try anything..." Bridget shooed little Sara out of the room, turning and locking the door behind her. "Now, you be good honey."
Sara could here the sarcasm in her former brother's voice, but there was nothing she could do. Pouting like the little girl she was, she plopped on the ground and watched her "mother" run down the stairs and out the door.
"Stupid jerk. I wanted this to just be between us..." she thought. "Now I'm stuck as a little kid and he'll get all the fun." She flipped her hand against one of her little pigtails and felt a small metal object there, a hairpin. "Or will I..." A devious smile crept across her lips. Taking the pin, she bent it slightly and inserted it into the old lock. It took a minute, but after fiddling with it, the lock turned and the door gave way.
"Yes! Score!" Sara pumped her little fist into the air, scurrying towards the computer. "Now its time for a little of your own medicine, Mom!"
Clicking to the Chronivac control screen she found her "mother's" specs exactly as she'd left them.
