Jennifer's friends began to worry even more now. What if someone saw their friend like this? They certainly didn't want to see her in trouble. Behind the field in which they were practicing, there was a thin stretch of woods. Not too far into those woods was a little clearing that few people knew about. Trish happened to be one of those people. She thought fast. There was something Jennifer had said about a prank call that Trish thought interesting. She had, of course, heard about the town curse but never believed it. She did know, however, that Jennifer had a list of enemies who would probably like to mess with her. She decided they had to figure out if that cause the changes in her friend.
"Girls," she said to Jamie and Liz, "grab your things and hers. Then follow me. We're not going back into that school until we figure out what's wrong with Jenn." The only problem is that this didn't sit well with Jennifer. To her, there was no problem, except the fact that her friends were treating her about as well as everyone else had been that day. "Just where exactly do you think you're taking me?" she demanded to know.
Trish stood up to her demands. "Look, Jenn," she did her best to convince her, "you may not think something is wrong, but we all do. Just follow us and we'll figure this out. OK?" "With the way you three have been treating me, why the hell should I listen to you." This was getting nowhere fast. "Jenn, please. Just trust me. Trust us. We're your friends. We're not going to hurt you or ask you to do anything you don't want to." But Jennifer wasn't in a nice mood. "I'd hardly call you three skanks my friends right about now."
And with that her hands grabbed onto the waistline of her skirt and yanked it off her body. She stepped out of it, and now stood there fully nude, not thinking a thing of it. Trish wasn't taking no for an answer now. "Jenn, you're standing here naked, right?" Jennifer looked at herself and replied, "Yea. So?" "Well, you don't want any of those losers in school to see you like this do you?" Jennifer thought for a second and said, "Well maybe one or two--" "--But not all of them, right?" Trish interrupted. "Oh God, no," she replied with a tone of fear. "Then let's please get you where no one can see you until we figure this out, OK?" At this point she finally agreed. "OK, fine. The hell with school anyway."
Trish was somewhat relieved. That sounded like the Jennifer she knew. By this time Liz and Jamie had gathered everything the four girls had brought with them, including the clothing that Jennifer had shed. Trish grabbed her backpack from Liz, took Jennifer by the arm, and commanded, "Follow me."
