"Dare," Jennifer said coolly. Jamie could sense a slight of hostility in her voice. And with good reason, too. Jennifer wasn't really looking forward to what Jamie was going to have her do. She guessed that Jamie would dare her to give up the captain of the squad to her. Jennifer wouldn't be able to stand for that. Little Miss Redhead, so cute and perfect, bossing her around. Oh, no, Jennifer thought. She knew that if that's what Jamie said, she would have no choice. She almost exploded with rage.
But Jamie had a different idea. Despite the attitude Jennifer had constantly shown her, she still really liked her. Jamie was not very ambitious. She never had any thoughts or intentions of trying to boss one person around, let alone an entire cheerleading squad. She just wanted Jennifer's attitude to go away. Now she had the chance. "Jennifer, I dare you to never have any feelings of jealousy or hostility to me, and be able to understand that I would never try to replace you as captain or do anything else to take any attention away from you."
Jennifer was slightly stunned. She thought she had kept her feelings towards Jamie well hidden. She certainly had not told anyone she felt that way. Jamie obviously perceived it on her own. The dare quickly took its effect, and Jennifer had nothing but good thoughts about her dear friend Jamie. Finally she spoke again. "Wow," she said. "I never knew that--" "What?" Jamie snapped back. "That I knew you were jealous of me? Jenn, to be honest, you don't really hide your emotions to well. I think, if anything, that was proven today." Normally, Jennifer would have poured forth all her venom upon Jamie for daring to accuse her of jealousy. But because of the dare, she felt fine with what Jamie was saying.
Trying to make sure there were no hurt feelings, Jamie finished her thought. "Jenn, look, I tried to tell you a few times that you had no reason to be jealous of me. You convinced me to join cheering, and you really took me under your wing, too. You were always there for me. If anything, I should have been jealous of you for being able to have that kind of power. But I never was. I just wanted you to be my friend." Jennifer felt much better hearing this. Not only had Jamie succeeded in massaging her ego a bit, but she knew that Jamie was truly her friend. After all, she thought, she did value those who were closest to her. A tear had welled up in her eye. It now rolled down her cheek, fell off her face, and landed on her enormous breast.
Suddenly she sprang back into the moment. "Uh guys, what are we going to do about these?" she said, pointing at her huge mammaries.
