Terry had seen Noah disappear into the alley, and had run to catch up
to the big lug. As he reached the alley entrance, he saw Noah and
Kyle's confrontation. He stepped back to watch what happened, just
peering with one eye around the alley wall. He was shocked and
horrified as he watched Noah morph right out of his clothing into a
Doberman. He knew he had to do something, but he sure didn't want to
end up a dog too.
He glanced down in the trash barrel next to the alley. It was a
godsend. On top of the trash, someone had discarded an old dog collar
and leash. The collar tag said Rex, and Terry had always wanted a dog.
Even if he wasn't Noah's best friend -that was some dick named Chad -
Noah had always been Terry's best friend. A man's best friend is his
dog, right?
Terry grabbed the leash and collar and stepped back from the alley. He
shouted, "Rex! Here boy! Rex!"
Then he entered the alley still shouting, "Rex!"
He turned and ran toward Noah and Kyle. People from the sidewalk
turned at his shouting to gather at the alley entrance to see what the
shouting was about.
"Rex! There you are! I've been looking all over town for you boy!"
Terry shouted.
"Uh, this isn't your dog," Kyle said.
"I've got his license tag right here!" Terry said dangling the collar
tag. "I should never have taken your collar off, Rex, and you
shouldn't have bolted like that. You disappeared like magic, I thought
I'd never find you," Terry prattled on non-stop, as he bent to collar
Noah. He was afraid Kyle would stop him or Noah would resist.
The audience gathered at the alley entrance seemed to help. "Oh,
isn't it nice, he found his lost dog," said an elderly woman.
Kyle was confused he knew that Noah was the doberman he had just
transformed. It couldn't be someone else's dog - it was Noah. Or
could it? Kyle remembered that in the Shaggy Dog movies there had
been a real sheepdog that vanished when the hero transformed into that
sheepdog. Maybe there was some sort of cosmic canine karma that kept
all the dogs in balance. When Kyle changed Noah into a doberman, maybe
he had changed Noah into the nearest real doberman. Maybe Noah really
was this guy's dog now. Kyle rubbed his temples. This was too weird
even for him. He'd have liked to turned this guy into something until
he could sort it out, but with all these people watching, Kyle knew he
couldn't do that.
He muttered, "So you're sure this is your dog?"
"Oh, yes this is definitely Rex," Terry said emphatically petting
Noah. The collar and leash were now in place, now all they had to do
was leave the alley.
Kyle watched as they turned to leave. He was tempted to change Noah
back into a naked guy at the end of this other guy's leash. There was
an audience, but so what. No one would attribute to him would they? Or
maybe he should wait until Noah and his new owner were a sufficient
distance away. He could change Noah back then.
Or maybe, Kyle thought rubbing his chin, Terry could become a dog too.
As the two exited the alley, Kyle collected Noah's clothes and shoes.
He might need them later, or maybe he just throw them away. He knew if
he threw them into the nearby dumpster that Noah would never being
wearing anything besides a collar and leash ever again. It was
tempting. Still Noah did have a nice ass, and while Kyle might have
transformative abilities, he wasn't exactly doing so well in the
dating department. Noah did have a nice ass. He squeezed the empty
jeans and boxers to his chest and contemplated his next step.
