Sean was walking fast, on his way to the Museum. It would have been the last place he’d thought of for a date, but his girlfriend Mary insisted. And even if he wasn’t into this whole “high culture” thing, he couldn’t refuse anything to her.
She was waiting for him sitting on the huge stairs of the entrance. She wore a white sweater, a black skirt and black knee high boots. She also had a kind of necklace or maybe a medallion. Mary had told him there was an exhibition about European history she really had to see. And now she seemed way too enthusiastic about the exhibition. As soon as she saw him, she greeted him with a fast kiss and just urged him to come inside with her.
He could feel something was wrong. She hadn’t done any remark about him being late. He never had any clue that Mary was interested in history, and she knew this was like torture for him. Well not really, but it would still be extremely boring. He would even have preferred to go shopping for clothes with her.
As they passed the great doors of the museum, Mary told him, with a weird smile: “I promise you it won’t be boring.” He was pondering over the meaning of those words while she bought two tickets. Normally, he wouldn’t have let her pay but he would have to fake interest for some old crap for the three next hours. At least they were together.
Mary came back to him, took his hand and led him toward the left wing of the museum, where the exhibition was taking place.
