Nick's recollections were interrupted by a haunting, mocking laugh from outside the hall of nude statues, which sent a shiver down Mitch's spine.
"Erm!" Mitch stammered, "you said there were five others?"
Nick was still staring at the open doorway from whence the mocking laughter had erupted, but broke out of the trance to answer his friend.
"Uh! Yeah, you know Elliot Stevens? He had the best batting average in our year for baseball."
Mitch nodded in affirmation about the guy in question. A rather fastidious individual with short curly light red hair and light dusting of freckles. "Yeah! Didn't he have a cousin?" Recalling the image of a spikey haired brunette that often hung around Elliot.
Nick quickly confirmed his friend's question, "Austen Stevens, yeah, he was travelling up to the sports conference with us, surely you remember the MVP awards he got for soccer?" He paused briefly to realign his train of thought, "Bryce Johnson, our first aider, but you'll remember him as a beast at water sports, you know the usual sun-bleached shoulder length hair."
Mitch had trouble recalling him.
"He had really blue eyes and uh..oh yeah that tattoo on his shoulder"
Mitch suddenly realised who he was talking about, the chinese character for sea inked on the back of the guy's left shoulder which was always visible when he competed. "And the last two?"
Nick sighed, "Casey Kirschwasser, track athlete,
Mitch looked with a blank expression,
"He was a different school, you won't know him!"
Mitch breathed a sigh of relief,
"Aaand Carter Braughn, a friend of my from way back, he was accompanying me to the conference. He's not really into sports but quite an accomplished skateboarder. He broke up with his girlfriend not to long ago so I thought it would be a good way to take his mind off her."
Mitch put his hand on his friend's bare shoulder in consolation. "We'll find them and turn them back just like we did you." He confided.
"Buuuut first!" he said eyeing Nick's nude form, "Weeee'd best find you some clothes!"
