Max lead the way as they walked over to his house. He was getting
excited about being able to spend sometime with Mark, or at least
that's what he thought. Max and Luke walked into the house, and Max
called, "Hey, Mark...Zack, are you guys here?"
From upstairs, two identical voices replied, "We're up here! You've
got to see this. We have found out something new with our merging
power." Neither Max or Luke recognized the voices. They sounded
familiar, but also very different.
Max shared a worried glance with Luke, but they quickly ran up the
stairs, taking them three at a time. Max walked over to his and Mark's
room, thinking they were there, but saw no one in there. "In here" one
of the voices yelled.
Max and Luke walked into Zack's room. Sitting on the bed facing them
was a two-headed guy. The two heads were identical in every way, and
they both had identical devious smiles. These two looked younger then
Max and Luke; Max figured around 16. They also looked an awful lot
like Zack and either Max or Mark.
Max and Luke were frozen in the doorway, so the two-headed guy stood
up and walked the short distance between the four of them. "Hey bro,"
the left head began. "Don't look so dumbstruck. Its me Mark."
The right head then waved, "Yeah, and its me Zack. Isn't it awesome.
Mark and I are like twins now!"
"W-What?!" Max breathed. Luke didn't say anything; he was in too much
shock to speak.
Mark and Zack, then glanced at each other. Their smiles grew ear to
ear. "You thinking what I'm thinking Zack."
Zack nodded, "Oh Yeah Mark!" The two then began to rub their hands
together with identical evil grins.
They turned back to Max and Luke, and Mark said, "If guys want, we
could make you guys twins. Wouldn't that be awesome?"
Max just looked at his former in horror. He felt like a dagger had
been pushed into his back; he felt betrayed. Tears started to fall out
of his eyes. Instantly, Mark and Zack dropped their identical smiles.
"Max..." they both started. But before they could say more, Max took
off. He only slowed to grab keys for his dad's car.
