The girls decided to stay in separate rooms for the remainder of the day, not trusting themselves or each other. Kelsey brooded over the possibility of being pregnant, finding the idea terrifying. She considered calling her mother, but decided to take the tongue lashing at a later time.
Kelsey sat in her bedroom, tugging at her equine teats, imagining a foal nursing on them. The idea of giving birth brought up further questions for her addled mind. Up until her tryst with her best friend, she hadn’t considered what would happen if she couldn’t change back. But what if she couldn’t change back? What if she would remain a horse-human freak forever? Running is what she would be reduced to. Running from prying eyes, running from circus freak shows, or the examination tools of scientists.
But what if she took more pills? She would change completely into a horse, perhaps loosing her human mind. She found herself strangely relieved to have found that outlet. Living as a complete and utter horse would be much better than living in a cage or in a lab.
Kelsey was so deep in thought, she jumped when her computer chirped, and said “You’ve got mail.”
“Finally!” Kelsey dashed to the PC, eager to see what the pill-man had to say. She opened her email as fast as she possibly could. She read the message excitedly, eager for information. As she finished, a wave of relief hit her.
“Paige! Paige, get up here!” Kelsey screamed, barely containing her giddiness.
“What?! But you…” Paige argued but was interrupted by Kelsey.
“Just get up here, damn it!” Paige run up the stairs as fast as her equine legs allowed. “What?! What is it?!”
“We can change back! Ha, ha! And I can’t get pregnant!” Kelsey giggled. “My genes are too messed up!”
Paige squealed. “What do have to do?”
“Just take the herbs he’s already sent. He said this has happened a couple times before. He said we’re lucky, some changed all the way, and he can’t do anything then. But he can help us!”
“Oh, thank god! We’re saved! But, eh, you know, if you can’t get pregnant, we, ah, could have some more fun…” Paige smiled shyly.
“Oh? Oh! He, he, he.”
