You don't get time to panic, as you hear the distinct sound of high heeled footsteps coming your way. Striking a defensive pose, and hissing rather catlike you turn toward the door, startling another girl dressed just like you. She has auburn hair tied up in a ponytail, beautiful brown eyes, and looks like she's in her late teens. But her most striking feature were her ears.
"Rabbit ears...?" you mutter almost inaudibly.
The bunny maid calms down. "Why yes I do. And you have cat ears."
You pout at her retort.
"Anyway..." she continues. "The mistress ordered me to clean up a mess here, but I see we have a new maid as well."
You wonder how the witch could've known you would knock over one of the potions, but you let it slide. "She didn't tell you?" you ask.
"The mistress is full of surprises. Want me to help you cleaning, new girl?"
"Yes!" you say with (oddly) a bit of enthusiasm.
Together you are finished quickly with your chores. You begin to feel as if being a maid wouldn't be so bad. Is it the witch's mind control? Perhaps you could ask your fellow maid.
"Say...?" you start hesitantly.
"Yes?"
"W... W-what's your name?"
"It's Marie. What about yours?" she says with a comforting smile.
You take a deep breath and tell her your name.
Her eyes go wide. "You used to be male?"
You nod.
"Well, it's not the first time the mistress has done, but you're the first of the maids. Don't worry, though. I know you'll feel comfortable in this new body. The mistress will make sure of that."
"She'll brainwash me?" you say with panic in your voice.
Marie bursts out laughing. "Oh dear! Hahahaha! She got-Hahaha! She got you good!" It takes a while for her to stop laughing at your confused face. "Ahem! Well, you see... She always picks the right people for the right job, and transforms them according to their desires. In my case she turned me four decades younger."
It takes a while for you to let it sink in. Could you have been transgendered your whole life and just not know about it? Your new body does feel strangely comfortable. But what about your feline features?
"I want to be a girl? A cat-girl?" you say.
"A girl, yes. A cat-girl, I don't know. You won't mind your ears and tail, maybe you'll even love them. I know I do mine." Marie tells you.
"You have a tail?"
The bunny-eared maid giggles. "Yeah, look." She spins 180 degrees, making the skirt of her uniform swish.
There it was. The cutest little puffball you have ever seen. Without thinking you reach out and grab it.
Marie yelps and quickly turns around to lightly hit your hand. "Bad kitty!" she says playfully. You smile awkwardly.
"Hey!" Marie says. "How about we call you 'Kitty'? Nah, it's too girly, right?"
"No." you say. "I like it."
Marie smiles gently. "Alright then, Kitty."
You blush lightly at the mention of your new name. It may be a bit silly, but you love how feminine it is. 'Kitty'. You are 'Kitty'.
"Say, Kitty..." Marie begins. "Will you tell me about your transformation?"
You nod and tell her all about it. Snickering, she informs you that the your new mistress actually isn't an old hag, but in fact a beautiful woman (though she may be ancient). And this old shack isn't her house; her real house is a large mansion situated in the center of this estate. And the mind control? That was just a joke. Marie tells you that you should always be weary of the mistress' pranks. Not that it makes a difference. She'll always strike when you least expect it. For a moment you wonder if Marie could be the mistress in disguise, but you figure that would be too obvious.
"Now that you know what's what, let's go back to the mansion and get you acquainted with the rest of the staff."
