"Stop it," Runt hissed at me, "You're walkin' like a human with a fat arse. You gotta walk like a horse with a big head"
Surprisingly, Runt's wonderful analogy did not make me feel any more graceful but I think I got the hang of four feet.
The party turned out to be on a sheltered rooftop of some skyscraper. I wasn't sure which city we were in. Runt had worked some magic on my front door so instead of opening into the hallway it opened onto the party. We could have been in Tokyo for all I knew.
A minotaur in a suit stopped us.
"You got an invite?" He grunted.
"You just tell Roman that Runt is here," Runt smiled, "I'll wait"
For a moment it looked as if the minotaur wasn't going to do anything, but he left and a bit later he came back. With him was a a dazzling white horse that was larger than any I'd even seen. And in the center of its forehead was a long, pointed horn. A unicorn.
"The aptly named Runt," The unicorn said, "You are strictly forbidden to leave the lower planes"
"Ah, 'course I know that, Roman" Runt smiled, "But I had to be with my one true love"
He patted me on the flank. The unicorn, Roman, gave me a sharp stare.
"Uh...Oh, yes," I quickly improvised, "We're so much in love"
"Hmmm," the unicorn considered, "What's your name, centaur?"
"Uh..."
"Fillion," Runt interjected, "He's my Fillion"
"That's me," I agreed, and for effect I put my arm around Runt and gently massaged his shoulder.
"He's a bit out of your league, is he not, Imp?" The unicorn smiled.
"Love is blind," Runt muttered, "Guess I'm lucky"
"I suppose normal laws are waived in the event of Love," The unicorn sighed, "Alright, you can come in. Behave and I shan't report you"
