Thad Miller had entered the house and headed for the room with the
voices. Suddenly, it got awfully quiet. He could hear Dylan speaking
softly to Ben, but he couldn't hear Ben. He figured he'd add some
levity to a possibly tense situation.
He threw open the door, and shouted, "It's Miller Time!"
Dylan nearly crapped himself. He spun around grabbing the wand off the
dresser. He stammmered, "Whosis, whatsis! Oh, it's you, Thad," he said
pointing the wand at Thad, "Yeah, I wish I had a giant bottle of
Miller."
Instantly, the image of giant inflatable beer bottles appeared in
Thad's mind. He suddenly started to feel bloated.
"Whoa, I feel funny."
"Oh, no," Dylan said looking at the wand in his hand, "I'm so sorry,
Thad."
Thad's complexion had changed considerably, as had his body. His
normal v shaped torso was pronouncedly barrel shaped, and that barrel
was pushing his pants down. Thad belched, and then became speechless.
As Dylan watched helplessly, Thad was reduced to a rubber beer bottle
balloon. Dylan pulled the shirt of the neck of the bottle and
inspected the light-weight inflatable that had been Thad Miller.
"Well, at least you're light weight enough to carry. If you were a
real bottle of beer that size, you'd weigh more than 3 kegs. Still you
and Ben are sort of bulky. I need to get out of here before anyone
else gets changed into something. Maybe it'll be easier if I take you
and all this other stuff to my place. I can get on my computer and
try to Google what's happened to you guys. Ben's easy enough to carry,
but I think I'll have to deflate the football and beer bottle to get
it all in my pickup," he said this as much to himself as anyone. He
shoved the wand into the waist band of his jeans, and started
gathering up the football gear that had spilled on the floor.
