You sighed as you looked at the gates of Danton Academy. This was a bit scary for you. Here you were going to school as an eight year old girl which wouldn't have been so bad if you were an eight year old girl.
Five days ago you had woken up and found you were in the body of an eight year old girl. You of course freaked out and started telling people what happened. No one believed you, not even your own parents. By the end of the day the state took custody of you and you were placed in a state home. Two days later Professor Pratt came to see you. You figured she was in her mid to late thirties. She had auburn hair and green eyes. When she spoke her voice was sweet. She had told you what you were and said that you would need to have a new name. You eventually settled on Lisa Perkins for your name. She had offered you a place at Danton Academy and you accepted.
Now you were in Professor Pratt's car driving through the gates and onto the school grounds. It was a long drive and you saw a couple of strange creatures peering at you from trees and bushes. That only made you more nervous and scared. In a few minutes the school came into sight and you could tell that it was big. You guessed that it was bigger than any other school you had seen or heard of. Professor Pratt pulled into a parking lot and both of you got out. You had just gotten your bags out of the trunk when a huge wolf jumped out and growled at you. It startled you and you screamed.
"Mr. Daul," Professor Pratt said in a stern voice. "That wasn't very nice. Miss Perkins is new here. Please refrain from scaring her at least until she has learned to control her ability." The wolf nodded and ran off. "Don't mind him too much," Professor Pratt said leading you into the building. "He likes to jump out at people trying to scare them. He finds it funny and most people here do too once they get over the shock and fright."
You giggled a bit and said, "Well he did get me."
After a few minutes you came to the office. You didn't have to wait long to see the Headmistress. Her office was like a typical office except it was done in dark woods and a big window on one wall letting plenty of light in. As you walked in she looked up and smiled saying, "Please take a seat. I'm Professor Danton and I'm the headmistress her. I assume you're Miss Lisa Perkins." You guessed that she was in her early sixties.
You nod and say, "Yes ma'am."
"Well this meeting is to place you in one of the houses here," Professor Danton said. "We have three houses. I've been going through the available beds. Would you mind being roommates with an older student?"
"No ma'am," you said.
"Good. Now would you mind if your roommate was something other than human?"
"No ma'am."
"Alright," Professor Danton said as she wrote something down. "Well there's a bed open in Shadows. In fact it's the only female bed that's open. Your roommate is Nancy Bones. She's a Naga though she does occasionally shift to human. I'll take you to your room."
She led you through the halls and eventually you came to a door. Professor Danton knocked on the door and a girl opened it saying, "Hello Professor. What can I do for you?"
"Miss Lisa Perkins is joining your house," Professor Danton said. "Please make sure she gets a key to the common room and one for her room. She's going to be with Miss Nancy Bones."
"Of course Professor," the girl said. "Come on in Lisa." You went in and the girl shut the door. "I'm sure you'll like it here," the girl continued. "As you can see this is our common room. Most of the time when we're not in classes we'll be here. Oh I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Charlotte Hornic. I'm Head Girl here. Now the girl's rooms are off to the right. Follow me. I believe that Nancy is in." She led you down the hall and stopped in front of a door numbered 120.
The door opened when Charlotte knocked and the girl who answered asked, "What do you want Char?"
"This is Lisa Perkins Nancy," Charlotte said. "She's been assigned to be you roommate."
"Well come on in then," Nancy said with a smile.
You entered the room and look around. There was a regular bed and one that was round and low to the ground. Looking at Nancy you figured that one was her's so you went over to the regular bed and put your bags on it. "I'll get you keys to you before morning Lisa," Charlotte said before leaving.
You looked around again and saw that Nancy had lots of posters of snakes eating various animals. You shrug it off and begin to unpack your bags.
