Owen and Kyle worked together to lift themselves off the floor and headed down to Owen's room, much to Kyle's discontent. They had wobbled over to the bed and stripped down to their boxers before climbing under the covers. They managed to fit their heads on the same pillow and were laying on their back staring at the ceiling in the darkness. Neither one of them could fall asleep at this point nor did they really want to talk about anything. Kyle just wanted to get to sleep, thinking that somehow, some way, that tomorrow might be better, that maybe this was all just a weird dream. Kyle quickly glanced at his father then rolled them over onto their chest.
"Hey...Do you mind?" Owen looked annoyed and rolled themselves over onto their back again, "I can't sleep on my chest, only my back."
"And I can't sleep on my back..." Kyle rolled them over again onto their chest. The two of them continued to argue as they tossed and turned, rolling themselves from back to front, then back again. Kyle had had enough and just wanted to sleep, "Fine! Whatever! Sleep on your back then, I don't care. I just want to sleep!"
"I'm getting real sick of your attitude Kyle..."
"And I'm getting sick of this!" Kyle pushed on Owen's side of their chest while trying to pull the other way.
Owen took a deep breath then rolled over onto their chest. "Ok Kyle, we'll sleep on your stomach, but please, just calm down." Owen used his left arm to stroke Kyle's head, "I don't like this anymore than you do, but we're stuck now, so we need to try and make the best of this." Kyle had calmed down and nodded in agreement. Kyle shifted their body around until he found himself comfortable and then fell fast asleep. Owen lay motionless for twenty minutes, and when he was convinced that kyle was dead to the world, he carefully rolled them onto their back so that he too could get some rest.
Kyle was reliving the day as he slept. Remembering how he woe up with his dad right beside him, only to find out they had become merged. All throughout, one thing kept popping up in his mind. What if Dave had put the other half on. He'd be stuck to Dave at this very moment. With that thought in mind, he found himself more at ease, being stuck to his father, rather than a old friend he hardly talked to anymore. Kyle was slowly coming awake. He could feel his arms and legs moving on their own and quickly lifted his head to see what was going on. He was panicked at first, having just woken up, but soon realized his was Owen moving in his sleep. Kyle looked over and smiled. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing, being stuck together. He lowered his head down onto the pillow before it sunk in that they were now laying on their back. He brought the blanket up around his neck and did his best to fall back asleep.
