Jesse was looking for a new drinking game to play with his friends for his 21st birthday. He had almost played them all; Snakes and Ladders, Tic Tac Toe, Sociables, and the list goes on... He wanted something new because he always felt like the last one to follow a trend. So, on the day of his birthday, he was looking around the mall. He wasn't having his friends over until the evening, so he figured he had one last chance to find a drinking game.
Then he saw it; a store with the sign "Drinking Games". He decided to check it out. It wasn't here yesterday, so he was in luck! He went inside, and looked around. It wasn't anything really exciting, but it seemed to have lots of games.
As he was looking around, an old man came up to him. The man was quite small, Jesse thought he must be really old. Like in his 80's. He looked like the owner or something.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" he said, smiling to reveal the few teeth in his mouth.
"Actually yeah," Jesse said. "I've never been in here before, and it's all so confusing for me. I'm looking for a game for my 21st birthday."
"Ah, the year where you are legal for everything, yes?" the old man said. "This would be the first drinking game for you, I presume?"
"No actually..." Jesse didn't know why he had told the old man that.
"Ah... I see," the old man smiled again. "I have just the thing for you. You know the game sociables, do you?"
"Yeah, I've played that game," Jesse said. "A little too much though."
The old man pulled a game off the shelf, and handed it to Jesse. The game was titled "Changeables".
"You'll like this one more, I guarantee it," the old man assured him.
"How much?" Jesse asked.
"Think of it as a birthday gift from me," the old man replied.
Jesse thought nothing of the man's generosity, and left the store without so much as a thank you. He took the game home with him and decided to open it up and read the rules to see them before his friends came over.
