"You'd best sit here," Serenity said to Trevor as the mass ended and people began to file out of their seats, "She might recognize you."
"What are you doing?" Trevor asked, feeling his fear grow at being so close to the cream colored she-wolf. Their monster wolf had killed Queen. This she-wolf might finish the job.
"Playing dumb," Serenity whispered, "she might be able to give me some information."
Depression over his situation aside, Trevor did not like this one bit. Madame Serenity know some martial arts and wrestling moves, mostly from her past experiences, but she was too old know to consider taking on a humanoid she-wolf in her twenties that looked very well muscled.
"Don't do it!" Trevor whispered as Serenity left him and began to walk toward the she-wolf.
Serenity moved forward slowly and carefully, largely looking up as if to be in absolute awe of he church she was in. She was able to do this in order to wander into the she-wolf, making it look like she wasn't paying attention to where she was going.
Much of this didn't go entirely as Serenity had planned. While the wolf staggered a little, but stayed on her feet. Serenity, however, ended up falling over back-wards and was lucky that some of the other people there didn't trample her. To her surprise though, it was the she wolf who came to her aide.
"Are you alright?" Anne asked she helped the woman who had bumped into her
"Fine really," Serenity answered, "Just wandering around. I've never been in church like this one before."
"It is a beautiful place," Anne answered, "I've been coming here since I was little."
"And your family?" Serenity questioned, "I notice you're the only one like you here."
"I'm the only one in my family that is catholic," Anne answered.
Of course, Serenity was questioning about blood family while Anne was referring to her pack as a whole. Nevertheless the conversation continued.
"So how did you become Catholic?" Serenity asked, hoping that doing something that made the she-wolf remember her past would break the mental hold over her.
"I do not know," Anne shrugged, "I've been one ever since I could remember. Why do you ask, Ms. ..."
"Serena," Serenity told the she wolf, as while it was close enough to her name, it wasn't close enough that the she wolf would know anything
"Serena? Do you play tennis?" Anne asked.
"Many years ago," Serenity answered, "and I wasn't any good."
"Oh," Anne replied, "It's alright, I'm not that great at tennis either."
"Maybe we ought to meet somewhere and we can practice volleying then..." Serenity offered, thinking of it as a way to get the she-wolf in a spot where she could turn them back.
"It does sound like fun, but I do not think that would be doable," Anne answered, "Master may not like it that I sneaked out to attend mass, but I had to. I love Father Mike's sermons. I will need to get going back at home."
"Master?" Serenity asked.
"Our alpha male," Anne answered, "Jensen. The Big Bad Wolf."
Serenity nodded, but didn't say anything for a moment.
"Seems rather contradictory to call someone the "Big Bad Wolf" and go to mass.
"Maybe, but Master isn't entirely one to complain," Anne spoke, "though I wouldn't anger him... ever, if he changed his mind on anything. Besides, some woman detective has already angered him, and we all know it."
"Woman detective?" Serenity asked.
"Yes, she tried to split up our betas' family, and likely tried to destroy our pack," Anne answered, "The Master does not like her for that."
Serenity felt that that confirmed the whole "Pack" issue. While she couldn't exactly define what a beta wolf was, other then making a guess based on object what she knew about the Greek alphabet and what she had learned about normal wolves before. It seemed as though the wolves were following wolf's natural instincts. Serenity thought that this would make things tougher, but she was sure that she could eventually think of a way. Saying some polite goodbyes, she returned to where Trevor was waiting.

"Ow!" Sandi complained as Darla applied a bag of ice to the teal she-wolf's eye.
"It'll help with the swelling," Darla told her, "And don't worry, you'll heal quickly."
"You won't tell anyone?" Sandi asked nervously.
"Only if they ask... although, whether or not I tell will likely be moot," Darla spoke, "Someone will notice the eye eventually.

"Very nice," Jensen said as he went done the line of new wolves for his Pack.
He stopped at Amethyst for a second, looked her over, and moved on to take the names of each new wolf.
"Did our work meet your approval, Master?" Opal asked from his position.
Jensen blinked as he had always thought "Opal" to be a girl's name, but then if that was what the male was to be called, that was his choice.
"Yes," Jensen nodded, "You all did very well. Which is why I have a new task for you."
"Shouldn't we give the Alpha Female's pledge, whatever that is?" Lazuli asked.
"She is busy with her children for the moment," Jensen answered, "You do not have to give you "pledge" to me... although when it comes to lunch and you are formally introduced to everyone, then you will give the pack that oath. In the meantime, let me explain to you what you need to do..."
