Princess Eodora heard the winged guards behind her whispering excitedly. Eodora felt
proud. This must be how an older sister feels.
"Ummm. Princess?" Said Igna nervously from the first ledge in the willow tree. "How do I
get down? This is pretty high up."
"Don't worry," Eodora said, walking over to the base of the tree. "I'll help you."
As Eodora raised her arms to help Igna, she suddenly heard a buzzing noise coming from
below her. She felt her boots sinking into the ground, as if she was standing in mud.
But before she could say anything, Igna had already squeezed her eyes shut and made the
jump into Eodora's arms. Eodora wasn't expecting the extra weight and she and Igna
plummeted through the gate beneath her feet.
Eodora heard a horrible buzzing all around her and the faint voices of guards yelling,
before everything went quiet except the terrified screams of Igna. With Igna still in
Eodora's arms, Eodora's back slammed into a rock surface.
Eodora grunted in pain. "It's alright," she said, trying to calm the hysterical Igna down.
"What happened?" Igna sniffed. "Was that a mean joke? I thought you were my bestest
friend!"
"If this is a joke, it's not mine and it's not funny," Eodora said. "Could you please get off
me?"
Igna got to her feet, and Eodora examined her surroundings. The green sky, floating rock
islands, and dark abyss below told her they were in the World of Chaos. She had seen
paintings of this place, but never in person.
"Is this the World of Chaos?" Igna said
Eodora looked to Igna dusting off her red dress and drying off her face. She was still a
scared eight-year-old child, and as Eodora steadied herself, she realized that she was still
an eight-year-old girl herself. Shouldn't they have turned back by now?
"I think so." Eodora said. "That random gateway must've transported us here. I don't
understand why we're still children, though."
"What do you mean?"
"Your guards saw we were in danger. Wouldn't breaking the egg have turned us back? And
our spell of youth was to disspell in an hour, right?"
"No," said Igna sadly. "Magical charms and spells in the World of Chaos don't have the
same effect that they do in the real world, even if they were cast in the real world. There's
too much raw chaotic magical stuff flowing through this domain. Predicting the effect of a
spell in this realm is like trying to shoot a leaf with an arrow in a windstorm!"
Igna stared up at the green sky, blinking. "I've failed, Eodora. I wanna save Quell, and now
you and I are trapped in this world, because I'm so stupid!"
Eodora rested a hand on Igna's shoulder. "It's not your fault. And we can still save our
world, Sorceress. We just need a plan."
