As Louie and the new Carter walk out leading their new bitch bassett
hounds they run into Stacy. But Stacy is somehow different than
before, she's taller, her waist is narrower, and she's got a five
o'clock shadow. Another TSA agent makes a hand signal to Louie that
the Stacy is a she-male. She had just gone through a body scanner.
"There you are, Carter, and who's this handsome young man. You're not
stepping out on me are you?" Stacy booms in 2 octaves lower than her
former cadence.
"Stacy? What are you doing here?" Carter (formerly Vinnie) asks.
"Same thing I'm always doing, Sug," she says in an exasperated voice,
"Marriage is now legal in Iowa and Massachusetts. Why don't you get a
job there instead of here? You're much more capable than just being a
janitor, Sug." She turns to Louie and says, "Don't you agree?" She
bats her eyes, and her dress tents in an unladylike manner.
"Uh, Stacy?" Carter (Vinnie) says wide-eyed as he stares at her
obvious bulge.
"Oh, that? Well, the silly man at the security check point made me
undo the hooks on my elastic when he waved that silly baton thingy. I
told him the only gun I was packing was the one God gave me. I'll fix
it in the rest room later. Now aren't you going to introduce us?" She
points at Louie.
"Louie's my room mate here, Stacy," Carter says awkwardly.
"Pleased to meet you, Louie. Do you think you could get Carter a job
here? I know TSA pays better than janitorial work, and though Carter
won't admit it. I think the real reason he won't settle down with me
is because he feels he doesn't make enough. My female impersonator
act makes me $200,000 a year, but I don't care how much my bald little
man makes I've been in love with him since we were in high school."
She sighs looking longingly down at Carter's shiny head.
Louie shrugs. Who knew. Magic has side-effects. If someone is
destined to be with someone, then Cupid's magic overrides or adjusts
reality to make the two lovers come together. Sometimes if there are
competing magics they end up tragically star-crossed like Romeo and
Juliet. Louie doesn't want to precipitate something like that, so he
tries to change the subject until he can talk to Grandmama.
"Say, Stacy, Carter and I just picked up these two hot bitches - these
dogs are in heat," he clarifies seeing the shocked look on Stacy's
face. "We're going to breed puppies for extra income. I guess you
were right about Carter wanting to build up a nest egg."
Carter (Vinnie) glares at Louie. He wouldn't mind being the studly
Carter married to Stacy the woman, but he was damned if he was going
to be a she-male's kept man.
"Oh, are they award winners?" Stacy asks pointing to the gold object
in Louie's other hand that is the transformed Carter.
