The lights go down as the dress rehearsal begins. Naomi, wearing only grey hotpants, a revealing top with a furry tail and some make-up, comes out first as the big bad she-wolf. Jennifer and two other girls play the pigs, wearingly equally skimpy costumes.
"Do you think this is in bad taste?" The drama teacher says to the director.
"Of course," he replies. "But they're young adults, they're happy showing off their bodies. Besides, nobody came to see Death of a Salesman. We needed something to get the perverts in."
"Little pig, little pig, let me in!"
"Not by the glow of my moisturised skin!"
The drama teacher gives up and leaves.
By the time the wolf comes round to Jennifer's house, the curse begins to take effect. The first changes are subtle; her ears sharpen at the point, her nose raises and flattens slightly, developing into a snout. However, under her make-up, they are had to discern.
"Little pig, little pig, let me in!", shouts Naomi.
"Not by the-" Before Jennifer is able to finish her line, she lets out a ferocious porcine squeal. The other girl laughs but Jennifer stands horrified.
"What was that?! This is no time for improvisation!" The director fumes.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what happened!" Jennifer pleads. "I don't feel too good. I need to go to the bathroom." She runs off-stage.
"I'll go and see what's up with her," Naomi says, removing her wolf ears and running after her friend.
