Completely unaware of their friend's fate, Kassie, Susie and Alice slept silently back in the barn. However, the effects of their own meals were gradually beginning to take place, and the next girl to be roused from her sleep was Alice. Having chosen the beef, her physical transformation from young woman to dairy cow was already underway internally, her digestive system re-arranging itself and the foundations of an udder coming through.
"Ugh, I feel so sick," she thought, writhing. "It's so hot in here too." It wasn't long before she gave up trying to sleep and got out of bed altogether, putting on a night gown and heading outside for some fresh air.
As Alice shuffled out into the refreshing night breeze, she noticed that the pigs were squealing and wailing pretty loudly. "Don't these animals need to sleep?" She wondered. For some reason, she felt compelled to go visit the cow barn. The thought of these animals comforted her oddly, and so she quietly opened the barn door and tiptoed inside to where the bovine creatures were kept.
